“Just Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

The chicken, fish and hamburgers are delicious, as are the fries, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Gorgeous outdoor dining. Everything we had hoped it would be!

“High Hopes but Little Satisfaction”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

I am hopeful every time I go to L'Hirondelle. Every time I am disappointed. The menu is varied, but the execution of the dishes and the service leaves a lot to be desired. OK for a quick bite after a game or movie, but I've given up on having some kind of authentic European meal. For superb French cuisine, I invariably go to Marché Moderne in Costa Mesa.

“Everything you expect in French cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I get out to this part of California about 4 times a year and will drive out of my way to dine here. I originally discovered through TripAdvisor and was not steered wrong.
Favorites are the foie gras appetizer as well as the sweetbread entree - don't miss the crepes, fresh berries and ice cream for dessert. If you're in the area don't miss the opportunity.

“A little bit of Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

I absolutely adore this restaurant . The Sunday brunch is wonderful. If the weather's warm , sit out on the patio where you have a view of Mission San Juan Capistrano. With the sound of the fountain, the music softly playing, and the bells ringing at the mission, you feel as if you are sitting in an open air cafe in Europe. Food is delicious, the owner is extremely cordial, and, if you order the champagne brunch, the champagne is free flowing, believe me.
