Beautiful gardens- tree's, bushes, flowers, plants, facinating history, lovely water features, koi ponds, breathtaking chapel, this mission is a must see- must be one of the most beautiful missions ever created.

“Under Construction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We visited 12/27/12 on our way to San Diego from LA. The whole front is under construction so getting in can be tricky (there is only 1 little spot open). Signs are non existant so you have to find you're own parking (there is no designated lot from what I could see...and I walked the entire way around it trying to get in). The little film and audio tour are nice. The actual mission part is beautiful as well as the grounds. I'll be honest.... I was a little underwhelmed...I expected more (and my 17 yr old was bored to tears)...maybe it will be better when the construction is finished.

“Mission SJC”

Nice historical place. One of the original missions established in the early days of California before statehood - good place to learn about Orange County's early history.

“A peaceful stroll back into California's history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

It is beautiful on a sunny day. There are almost always some flowers in bloom. The great old plants and trees have been nurtured for centuries and lend a feeling of tranquility to the beautiful old mission.
