“Picnic”

We threw many impromptu picnics there. The area where we picniced was clean, quiet, shaded and totally enjoyable.

“Love the trail runs at this park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

If you love trails this is the place for you!!! Its a dimond in the rough... there are trails for the serious runner and walker that are challenging. There are also trails that you can walk on with your kids. I fyou haven't been here, Its definitely something you must experience. For the experienced hiker, runner, mountain biker try the eagle rock trail. Enjoy!!

“Little-known Treasure deserves more attention”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Alum Rock was a nationally-known spot for its hot springs 100 years ago or so. That history alone makes it worth visiting. Today it provides beautiful hilly hiking trails and views of the valley; flat trails along the river for an easy walk. A great picnic place. Sometimes on the weekends members of the Youth Science Institute bring owls, snakes or other creatures out on to the lawn and one can see them up close. Good playgrounds for kids.

My parents were married here 26yrs ago and been back there for hiking and walking around and the trails can be a little hard but they are good for getting exercise and exploring the area with gorgeous views.
