“Good place for business dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012 via mobile

Steaks were cooked to order, and definately prime. Wine list, while not expansive, certainly has what you need at any price range. Service was a bit slow, but I attribute that to the waiter not interrupting what was an intense business conversation.

I will return.

“Good food but significantly overpriced.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

I can wholeheartedly recommend Spencer's for the quality of its food and the wine list (quite nice actually) however at the price point they're charging, it is in no way recommended to actually eat at. It would have to be the second coming of the French Laundry to justify the prices. A steak with a side dish and a glass of wine can easily run you 60-75 dollars. Heaven forbid if you are not careful choosing your wine or want a second glass.

“Not enough bang for the buck”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Went here on a business dinner. The food was good, but not great and for the prices they charge it should be great. We started off with apps like the crab cakes and calamari, they were good but everyone agreed we have had better. For an entree I selected an arrabiata pasta dish with colossal shrimp and again, the dish was good but not great and at $32 I thought it was over priced. No one at the table raved about their food, it was a good meal but we all agreed it was pricey to the tune of about 20% to 30% too high. The wine list was OK and they have no draft beer which was a disappointment. Our server was good so no complaints there. Overall, I am glad this was a business dinner as I will not be back on my dime.

“Expensive yet Excellent meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

The atmosphere is unique and the food is great here. Prices for steaks are in the $40 range without sides but it is a tasty cut of meat. Large selection of wine and friendly staff makes this a great place to visit.

“An Average Hotel Restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

Spencer's is by no means a bad restaurant. It is just not a remarkable restaurant. The menu is limited, the quality of food is serviceable but not top-of-the mark, the chef is a capable technician but not an artist. The service is adequate. I have no complaints really, but it is not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit.
