“Great value, Excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2005

This is a quality hotel at chain prices. Located very conviniently, yet no freeway noises. The staff was very accomodating with special requests, including mailing an item inadvertantly left in the room.

Overall a good stay. Well-furnished, comforatable, clean rooms with ironing board and Starbucks coffee. The rooms also had good desktop workspace with Ethernet high-speed Internet access. Friendly, helpful staff and attractive interior overall. Business center access is free, although there is only one computer. The location may or may not be good depending on your focus. The hotel is a $20 cab ride from SJC and right off of the 280 freeway. Not very scenic but easy access to and from. There are gas stations, a Tony Roma's and some other strip-mall stores nearby.

My husband and I booked this hotel trough travelocity, for a king bed suit, when I checked in, walked into my room, it was a 2 full beds room. I asked them to change a king bed room for us, they said "sorry, all the king bed rooms have been sold out". Oh well, they just give you whatever room they have without informing you. The price didn't mention if the breakfast was included, the front desk mentioned where the breakfast would be which made me feel that the breakfast was free. The next morning when I went to have breakfast, a very rude lady told me that I had to pay. The room was okay, the bed was comfortable but there were some dirty color drip stains on the wall and there was a stain on the duvet cover. The bath tub was small and the wall was kinda dirty. The bathroom was big but makes you feel empty, more like they haven't finished decorating, just put the minimum stuff you need in the bathroom. They do have Avenda shampoo and soap, but for a 2 full beds room they only give you one set of shampoo and conditioner. The coffee was starbucks, but this is what any 4 star hotel should offer. There was no courtain on the windows, the window shades made me feel like I was in an office. Becuase the hotel is right next to the highway, the trafic was very loud and closing the window shades doesn't make any difference. Parking was good. There is a gas station and Applebee's next door.

From the welcoming lobby to the tastefully decorated rooms, this hotel is an amazing find for the price. Although it is situated adjacent to the freeway, we couldn’t hear a thing from our room located along the back hallway, which is closest to the freeway. There is a bar & grill in the hotel, you can walk to Tony Roma’s or Applebee’s, or take a short drive to Santana Row for dinning. There are also many other options up and down Saratoga Boulevard. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Best of all, the coffee maker in the room is stocked with Starbucks coffee and the complementary toiletries are from Aveda. My hair has never smelled so great!

This hotel should really have 2 separate reviews; one for the hotel and one for the location. My teenage daughter and myself recently spent a Friday night at the Moorpark. The hotel itself was nice. Decor was slick and modern (almost too dark, though), the size of the room was large and comfortable (as was the bathroom), and the bed was very, very comfortable. The room was clean and fresh w/o smelling like disinfectant. Service was prompt and accurate, but definitely not overly friendly. The underground parking directly accesses the hotel, and the parking spaces are generously wide. (Which is important for someone w/a bad back.) The pool area looked nice, though we didn't have time to utilize the facility. The complementary buffet breakfast was pretty nice, and even included bacon/sausage, eggs and potatoes.

Now, for the location. As a single woman traveling w/a teenage daughter, I was pretty uncomfortable. The hotel is right off of the freeway, surrounded by a gas station, a Tony Roma's and an Applebees, with a strip mall across the street. To get to the underground parking garage, we had to navigate through the packed Tony Roma's parking lot. The hotel has a very small restaurant, which I thought serviced the hotel. But on Friday nights, it hosts a comedy competition. There were some pretty intoxicated patrons coming and going, and we could hear the laughter in our 3rd floor room. Speaking of our 3rd floor room, not only did it overlook the pool area, but we also looked down into the backyards of houses that are right on the other side of the fence behind the pool.

This is a very comfortable hotel that's reasonably priced. However, due to the location and unrelated traffic (of people, cars and surrounding businesses), I wouldn't stay here again.

Recently stayed at Moorpark Sept. 29 - Oct. 1. Very nice hotel, great staff. Wonderful place for business travelers. Workout room was a bit crampt, but otherwise good. It's great place to stay right off the freeway (280 & Saratoga). To prevent any problems, since I did not book with them directly I called ahead to verify reservation. Phone was answered right away and they offered directions without being asked.
