“Unexpectedly Charming Boutique Hotel with a European feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Stayed here for one night on the way to San Francisco....very glad I did....the place hs so many great things going for them

Great ambiance and little touches that makes this feels more like a 5-star hotel than a boutique hotel

A few things I like:
- Free parking inside the structure behind the hotel, in and out is easy using your room key for entrance (much better than paying $50 for a downtown SF hotel)
- Great selection hot breakfast complete with omelettes station
- Super clean room, bathroom, and public areas too
- Gilchrist & Soames amenities (including hand lotion) in the public restroom
- Lemon or berries freshened ice water near lobby
- very comfortable king size bed
- microwave and fridge in the room
- free wi-fi

The location is very convenient, with many restaurants and coffee shop within walking distance, there is also a Fresh & Easy market just next door

Very close to freeway but it has an urban feel like a downtown area where you can step outside and walk to the neighborhood stores and restaurants

Will definitely stay here again next time in the area

Great job, Hyatt House...(this is the 2nd experience staying at a Hyatt House after the one in Miami which is another great property)

If you are planning to go to the Great Americar Park, this hotel will be perfect for you. 3 minutes away from the park and is located in a very cool area which several restaurants within a 1 minute walk and a grocery store. The room was very clean and had all of the amenities needed for a comflrtable stay. The breakfast and the customer service exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: Is pet friendly!!

The good:

One of the quietest rooms that I have had in some time. Comfortable bed. Reception was polite and efficient. The room had a kitchen, which I might have used had this not been a business trip.

Less good:

Sofa and chair were amazingly uncomfortable. Lighting inexcusably insufficient to read anywhere in the room. Internet connection would drop back to authentication at random intervals, destroying email in progress. Shower delivered insufficient water volume and the head was at an absurd height: I could reach it, but many people might have trouble.

Bananas at breakfast might have been ready to eat within a week. Breakfast yogurt one day was all Activia (I do not want to think about a celebrity's colon when I have breakfast) vanilla. Cereal bowls, following the room furnishings in form over function, were square and gleefully ejected cereal out the corners at every move of the spoon.

Yogurt and banana troubles are curable at the grocery store immediately adjacent. Target and CVS are a very short walk away, as are several national chain food places.

At this stiff price ($249 plus several taxes) I should give a worse review, but it is uncommon today to find a quiet hotel with a decent bed.

The hotel is reasonably new. It has nice and bright reception areas, lounges, and computer areas. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. But for some unknown reason, the sizes of furniture pieces tend to be too big, which makes the room a bit cramped. The breakfast area is not big enough to accommodate a full house of hotel guests, so waiting in line becomes a norm. Although there are stores nearby, the location of the hotel is outside of the town and not very convenient is one wants to be near to restaurants and night lifes.

I waited until the last moment to reserve my room and I had been to a Hyatt hotel in another city, but was still hesitant. I'm so glad I did. We had a great time. The room was perfect and had everything, including a full, hot breakfast. The price was higher than I usually pay, and I think I may have had a bathroom for people with disabilities, but like I said, I made the reservation last minute. Will definitely come again.

The hotel is in Silicon Valley, next to numerous restaurants and a Target and Whole Foods within walking distance. This is a 3 1/2 star hotel, but the service made it 4 stars. It does have a great pool, and a gym with all necessary equipment. The rooms are nice, but the beds are perfect, so comfortable, even better than your beautyrest at home. They have a good free breakfast, however the omelet maker is really slow. Fresh fruit, yogurt, french toast, cereal, and more. They put raspberries and blueberries in their water. That is the extra touch in all of their services.
They also have an afternoon tea, drink, snack, which I did not go to.
They give toothpaste in the rooms, and do have a make up mirror, so important. A shower cap would be nice.

A special thank you to Jeffrey at the front desk. I went to the Great America Mall and returned at 9:30 pm. I couldn't tell which way to walk back, and it was dark. Even though it was after hours with the shuttle, he could tell I was a little concerned and he came and picked me up. That kind of service makes a difference, Jeffrey was great, and deserves recognition!

I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed there for ten days last month, and I liked the location which is close to many corporate offices around the area. It's right next to Brocade, walking prox to Ericsson etc.
They do offer free transportation from San jose airport (unlike crown who does to SFO) and nearby places.
Some food options around this place and and there is a fresh & easy supermarket right next to it. Overall worth the price.
