I paid major buck$ for tickets to the King Tut travelling circus and it was a joke compared to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose.
Even if you are not into mummies, which they have on display, the artifacts of egyptian everyday life like facial/eye make-up holders and the wooden head rests, jewelry (and much, much more) are a good look at what life was like in ancient egypt.
The guided tour through the replica tomb was outstanding. It has a VERY real feeling throughout.
A walk around the outside of the museum and through the papyrus water garden is also rewarding. It is a relaxing spot where you can rest your feet a bit and take in the huge wall carvings, hieroglyphs and statues.
Finally, take a stroll through the gift shop with its soft music and large array of unusual trinkets. It is almost as much fun as the rest of the place, even if you don't buy anything.
