“Worth the Drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2015 NEW

We were looking for a place to take a short walk but mostly drive. There is a lot of hiking but you can drive through it. We did find a nice path that was easy to walk. We were looking for a place to kill some time so we did not have hiking gear. Not a place for large vehicle due to the narrow roads and all the bikers.

Great visitors center & museum housed in a historical home, mining village, hiking trails, natural areas, just a delight to visit.

“Great hikes and scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2015

Peaceful and serene hikes, some are a little tough, but plenty of other easy ones. There is also a lot of history dating back to the mining days. Good one-day outing for family or solo.

“Decent hiking trails”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2015

Ok place to hike, lots of possible trails to explore, and some hot springs and history to take in.

I would recommend that the trails be better marked - the map provided had trail identification but hard to map it against the actual trails.

Not a bad way to spend a morning or afternoon wandering around, hiking, or if you prefer, picnicking.

“Mining History and an Historic Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2015

The Almaden Quicksilver County Park is a great place to take children. The docents are very knowledgeable about the history of quicksilver mining and the historic home located there. There are trials to walk, but the are rather steep.
