“You got what you pay for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We spent couple of day with the family, no regrets at all, the place is nice, rooms are ok, staff in our case was really good and always dedicated to help you.
Rooms are enough size, clean, our was little noisy (third floor ) due some pipes malfunction, but we feel ok.
Breakfast is ok, is not that great or beyond a good place, but is good enough.
We had some room service for diner, prompt and just as we ask, but it is better to attend dinner at the restaurant,
Pool is small, nice, I liked it, we have fun time; there´s no service for beverages so, you need to walk away to get it; one of the days we have some people with underwear swimming disgusting little things people do, not hotel responsibles were present, we left the pool for later.
Anyway I will like to return, front desk were pretty good.

The hotel was very clean and the hotel's staff were extemely helpful. We wish we would have had more time to visit this trip. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel so we're not able to comment on that, but I'm sure it would've been wonderful.

We arrived for a trip out of foggy SF to relax in some sunshine and enjoy San Jose. The Staff were just plain rude, i have multiple reasons why I am saying this. The Sunday brunch buffet was $40 per person where it was $20 the day before and the a la carte food was awful.

I spoke with the Manager about our complaints primarily with the staff including Tai on front desk who was as useful as a chocolate tea pot and simply grunted his responses. We never heard a 'sorry' once. The manager offered us a free stay to get over the bad experience which we reluctantly accepted. 2 weeks later i have not received a response to my email (to the manager, Allen) to confirm the free stay.

Its one to stay clear of despite the beautiful look of the hotel the rooms are average to poor and you wont get a worse service than this.

Thank you very much for your review.

Please accept my sincere apologies for your experience. Saturday's breakfast buffet does cost less than our Sunday brunch but we do offer a Sunday breakfast buffet that is the same time and price as the Saturday buffet - 6am to 9:30 am. Again my apologies that our information did not clearly outline that. We will make sure to do a better job of that going forward.

Our goal is to provide only the best customer service in all areas and to make sure if that does not occur we address it immediately. This is what occurred with the challenges you mentioned.

Thank you very much for your comments and again my sincere apologies we were not able to meet your expectations.

The price is right, the rooms are wonderful and the breakfast is out of this world. We came down for the garlic festival and to see friends. Had a wonderful stay at the Hayes Mansion. It is clean, unique and comfortable.

peter is a great guy he drove us to in and out burger and was really friendly and nice he deserves the best at this hotel give him prizes and money and eventually make him the hotel captain. He is an excellent driver and an overall very nice person. He has made my stay at Dolce Hays MAnsion ten times better and i would recommend it to anyone i see. Strawberry water they served in the lobby was excellent tasting.

Arrived at 3:45 pm and told no queen room was ready...asked to wait half an hour. Unacceptable...we had a concert to catch in Saratoga! After telling the check-in person that she got us a king room in the ballroom wing. Personally felt we shouldn't of had to push it. Room was fine...clean...comfy bed. In the morning, the blow and go groundskeeper, the floor polisher and the person washing down the patio all were busy early....we had to literally keep stepping over and around a hose, a cleaning machine, etc....all before 9:30 am. Grounds are lovely...but...could they not find time between check out and in to work??? Pretty lackluster customer care....interesting experience, but I have had my fill...

Dear Joan88:

Thank you very much for your review please accept my sincere apologies that we made so much noise so early in the morning.

Our goal is to create an experience that is quiet and relaxing. I will forward your comments to our Executive Housekeeper. So she can look into your suggestion of finding a more hospitable time to take care of those duties.

Thank you again for your comments they are important to us.

Wishing you only the best of everything.

After a long 7 hour drive from LA, parking is simple--no tickets, validation, valets. Parking lot's a stone's throw away from room stay building for easy on the go, as it is returning from the day or evening's adventures. I had my mtn bike and simple access to and fro room-to-automobile and vice versa. Upon arriving (hungry and fatigued), the restraurant/bar served a balance of healthy and indulgent dishes--I ordered Mediterranean olives for appetizer and supposedly grass-fed burger (meat seemed a bit fatty for grass-fed--tho after first bite, i didn't mind at all as it was delicious) with potato chunk fries and ice tea for around $35. Retiring to my room, it was clean from floor to top--able to walk barefooted without soiling your feet, and mattress bedding medium firm with ample 5-6 pillows for single king size. Neutral odor upon entry, digital thermostat climate control--slightly noisy motor of AC when it kicks on, yet excellent air flow. AT&T cellular is somewhat functional with a couple of network bars on an iPhone 5. Hotel does provide fast wireless when using my iPad--i.e. Netflix streams without any hiccups.
