“Convenience trumps worn carpets & furniture.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

So convenient to our conference at SAP Center....just a short walk away. Yes, the carpets need replacing as so the room chairs...but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Hotel itself, while old, was very clean. TV was tiny and reception was poor...but I didn't come to watch TV. Free breakfast was a plus and was good....not great...but above average and hit the spot! Loved that parking was free....and loved that Whole Foods was next door for a great last minute dinner option.

Room Tip: Suggest upper floor where you can leave your window open and not have the noise of the AC.

Really loved that there wasn't carpet in room due to asthmatic reasons. Pharmacy directly next door. Short walk had a few different options for dinner even an all you can eat Asian restaurant nearby! Perfect for St Jose Sharks games just a short walk in the opposite direction. Clean and tidy rooms very happy with the quality of cleanliness and service. Found the French gentleman at the night desk very very helpful and was able to understand when I asked a question. This hotel caters for disability access also with push button for front doors. Would stay again!

It may have somewhat outdated fixtures and the carpet in the hallway may be wrinkled in spots, but the parking is free, the hotel is only 5 minute drive from downtown, the staff is nice and the rooms have a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. There's a CVS store right next to the hotel.

The hotel was nicer than the average review on here. Yes, the carpet in the hallway did have a hole in it and needed to be re-stretched but the room was nice and large. Bed was comfortable, room clean, average stay. No complaints on room Breakfast was good but if I was staying here for a week would get tired of same menu everyday. Location is close to SAP center, a short two block walk. Staff friendly.

This hotel was great! We were in San Jose for Wrestlemania and stayed at the Arena Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel was lovely and in a great location. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, plus there was a great jacuzzi bath! I agree with some reviews that it's a little dated but that just added to the character of the hotel. There was a TV, desk, wardrobe, iron/iron board, hairdryer, fridge, microwave and coffee machine in the room. The breakfast was great and had plenty of choice - eggs, bagels, pancakes, cakes, muffins, fruit, toast, potatoes, porridge, cereals, bacon, sausauge, yoghurt, cream cheese etc plus tea, coffee and juices. Great start to the day having breakfast right there at the hotel, saves walking around trying to find somewhere and paying over the odds for a smaller breakfast. The staff were all great and helpful in providing directions and arranging taxis. As mentioned below there is a new Whole Foods store right next door to the hotel which has a great salad and hot food counter, and also a bar, so if you do not feel like eating out there are plenty of options to take back to your room or eat there knowing you a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It is also a few minutes walk to the SAP Centre and San Fernando VTA light rail station. Downtown San Jose is a 15 minute walk away so again a great location. Would highly recommend and would return again.

This hotel was a great find! We were in San Jose for Wrestlemania in Santa Clara and stayed at the Arena Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel was lovely and in a great location, very safe area. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, plus there was a great jacuzzi bath! There was a fridge, microwave and coffee machine and some paper plates and cutlery if you wished to order pizza to your room from a local takeaway. The complimentary breakfast was great and had plenty of choice - eggs, bagels. toast, potato cubes, bacon, yoghurt, cream cheese etc plus tea, coffee and juices. This is a great bonus in a morning and a lovely way to start the day. The staff were all absolutely excellent and so helpful in providing directions and arranging taxis. There is a new Whole Foods store right next door to the hotel which has a fabulous salad and hot food counter, so if you do not feel like eating out there are plenty of options to take back to your room. It is also a few minutes walk to the SAP Centre and San Fernando VTA light rail station. Would highly recommend.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2015

This hotel is quite old, hallway's carpet is tatty and old, some parts of it even disappeared. Rooms are spacious and clean but it is true that furniture is basic and quite old. It needs a good refurbishment. I chose it because it was quite cheap and not far from downtown's hotels. Reception desk staff were very kind.

Breakfast is quite basic but it was enough for me. I do not have big requirements to have breakfast. Cereals, milk, juice and coffee :) is enough. No much offer in breakfast.

I would not discard going back but only if price keeps being very competitive compared to other hotels.

Wifi worked very well. No complains in this regard.
