I always make it a point to eat at Fisherman's whenever I am in the area. This restaurant is located over the beach as you walk onto the San Clemente pier. In fact, the wave travel under the restaurant, especially during high tide. Parking on a nice weekend day can be a challenge. There's a public lot just up the street.
There are actually two separate aspects to this resturant, as you walk onto the pier, the bar is on the right and the dining room is on the left. You can still order food at the bar. At the resturant they start you off with sour dough bread....OMG....awesome!!!
I had the Fish Tacos ($9.95) which consisted of grilled Mahi. Adding cheese sets you back another (0,75), avocado a buck. They offer a side salad with it which was a bit on the watery side. The Mahi was cooked to perfection, flavorful, juicy and tender.
My companion had the Salmon & Chips....she was not too impressed with the fried salmon; however, overall she said it was good. I tried a bite and the salmon was moist and flaky. It was served with slaw and potato wedges. The slaw was mushy and not too good.
Tables are packed together closely to the point there is very little maneuverability, thus it is not good for romance or special occasions. Very limited outdoor seating, even less inside.
