“Clean and convenient, what more do you need?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

When I booked a room here I was a little concerned about commuting in to San Francisco. Turns out I was totally off the mark. The BART station is a couple minutes walk in a perfectly safe neighborhood. The commute time to almost anywhere downtown is approx. an hour via public transportation.

The rooms are clean and neat. My only negative impression is that a two room suite should have adequate meal seating for more than 3 people. It is a small thing for sure and not a deal breaker.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. Everyone was attentive to requests or questions. There is a variety of stores nearby if you need to pick up something. SFO airport is the next BART stop south. The noise from the airport never caused any issues. If you are outside, it can be loud as some of the aircraft fly directly overhead. In the room it was a non-issue.

Overall the stay here was pleasant and uneventful, just what you need when you have a lot of other things going on.

I stayed here for one night in February 2013, and was very impressed. I was a bit dissappinted that they could not provide soy milk for breakfast, but I wrote in advance about it and received a very quick reply from the manageress, which was appreciated. My suite was really impressive and the kitchen was very well kitted out, on top of wolfgang puck coffee there was also a sachet of microwave popcorn, which was a nice touch. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was spotless. The decor was fresh and modern.
The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and well looked after, I especially enjoyed the multiple types of coffee on offer and the newspapers. I did not enjoy having several TVs blaring out news and sports at top volume though. This combined with deafening drilling going out outside due to construction did make for zero ambiance.
I think the construction is finished now, so I would have no hesitation to stay here again. Recommended.

A perfect place to stay as an overnight or even a day, great location and free shuttle to/from Airport. Would stay here again 100%. New, clean, fresh, great breakfast, room facilities and swimming pool. Food, beer, wine 24/7.

This is a good place for large families. And it's centrally located so that you can drive into San Francisco within 20 minutes and get to San Jose in about 35. We had a 2 bedroom suite with an upgraded kitchen. Good breakfast and weeknight evening snacks. You are close to the airport (maybe a little too close--you could hear planes flying late at night and early in the morning). But overall a good stay.

We needed to find a hotel near SF when we were dealing with surgery at the SFSC. The hotel manager Lisa assured us that our stay would be comfortable and to our surprise we were upgraded to a beautiful 2 BR suite by the pool. The staff is very friendly, the room was also more than we expected - all new, beautiful Kitchen, living area, bathrooms and bedrooms. Loved the easy on and off the highway and the amount of stores and restaurants nearby while not ever seeming like an overly busy spot. The breakfasts were a great way to start the day, loved the Wolfgang Puck coffee selection and the crumbcake was to die for! The evening social hours had a good selection - just wished it was all week and not just Tuesday-Thursday. The Pork quesadillas were so good they made a great dinner. Parking was always easy and anything we asked for seemed to be no issue. WiFi was also like being at work - smooth and fast. The rooms are fairly soundproof too - there were kids playing in the pool and on the basketball court having a good time and it was never noisy enough to cause an issue. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the SF area!

Room Tip: If you like it very quiet - ask for a room away from the inner courtyard pool and basketball court...

We've stayed at the Staybridge Suites in San Bruno for convenience, the kitchen and cost several times. It's an older place and was a bit shabby around the edges. On this last visit, we found that the rooms had been dramatically upgraded with essentially all new furnishings and applicances (not sure why the old dishwasher wasn't replaced!). Counter tops are a nice granite-looking composite of some sort; cabinets are new cherry-look and windowed so you can see where dishwarer, etc. is stored; couches, tables, desks, beds are new and comfortable; TVs are upgraded to nice HD flat-screens in both bedrooms and living areas; Wi-Fi is free and reasonably fast. Bathrooms are new and clean and comfortable to use. As other reviewers have noted, you will have to climb one or two sets of stairs if you room is on the nd or 3rd floor. Request a bottom room if stairs are a problem. No elevator to help out.

The location isn't great, but it is close to shopping and major freeways (but not so close that you get freeway noise). Aircraft do fly over, but they are surprisingly unobtrusive. It's very easy to get into the city and over to the coast. Parking is free and hasn't been a problem for us at any time. Breakfast is pretty good and complimentary. Tues through Thursday, a light meal is served starting around 5:30 and features free beer and wine. We had tacos the one night we took advantage.

We like the place itself, the free parking and ease of getting around the bay area. We recommend it, if the locations suites.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor if stairs are a problem.
