“Business hotel that hasn't kept up.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Your standard Hilton hotel geared for business travelers but felt outdated. Location next to the highway is convenient for getting around but not for a sound sleep. Most of the staff are quite friendly but not enough to make up for the basic accommodations.

Room Tip: Make sure your room faces away from the highway, ideally North, in order to get the best rest. In th...

I stayed at this Hilton for 2 nights in February 2013. I asked for a room far from the elevators and vending machines and got a room on the third floor that was very quiet (it also did not face the highway).

Bed was a bit too saggy for me; usually Hiltons have newer/firmer mattresses on their beds but as others have remarked, this property is a bit older. There was also a clear cigarette-caused hole larger than the size of a quarter in the blanket I used instead of the comforter; it didn't really bother me but was definitely noticeable. Other than that, everything else in the room was fine - controllable thermostat, mini-fridge, both wired and wireless Internet (ask for the guest code when you check in), good water pressure in the shower, clean.

I also used the fitness room one morning; conveniently, it's open 24 hours.

The buffet breakfast was included for my stay but I believe that's not part of the standard room fare. It was very good, including a selection of hot items (eggs, sausages, oatmeal, something sweet such as French toast or bread pudding), breads and pastries, cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt.

I didn't use room service or eat at any of the nearby restaurants, but this hotel is not in any kind of eating out strip - the restaurants that you could walk to are all chains.

I had very pleasant interactions with the front desk, including my last morning when I needed to alter my travel arrangements at the last moment (the front desk person helped me check taxi fares to a different airport),

I agree with other commenters that in terms of furnishings, this seems a bit below par for a Hilton, but for what I needed - a good breakfast and a quiet place to sleep - it was fine.

I've had a lot of fun staying here. The friendly staff is very welcoming and makes you feel like family. All amenities are available 24/7. This is a full service hotel. The hotel has a good location to getting to the surrounding cities.

Room Tip: the east wing has a beautiful view and is very quiet

After a very long trip from abroad, we enjoyed a warm welcome and got a great night's sleep in the spacious, comfortable, spotless room. The reasonably priced breakfast provided lots of choices, and even though it was raining, I enjoyed the heated outdoor pool. I would be pleased to stay here again.

Location of the hotel is very poor, and the customer service is equally awful. Upon checking in was told that I was to be rebooked to the Best Western for the first 2 nights of my stay. Very disrepectful customer service as they did not give me any indication of the potential issue until I was in the hotel lobby checking in after traveling across the country to get to California.

Would recommend Embassy Suites or any of the Marriotts in the area over this Hilton.

Nothing special here at all, hotel is tired and has nothing special at all to offer. Construction outside makes this place less than desirable. Time to remodel this one. The breakfast at this hotel is about the only decent offering. As a diamond member I expected better but the status was barely recognized, no extras here.

This San Bern hotel was recomended while in Cali for meetings at Loma Linda University. Great location for hospital, no shuttle though. Bell/Desk staff very helpful and friendly, fresh fruit nice touch, healthy snack! Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Beds comfy. Good working space and secure power outlets. There is construction on pipes at street think that contributed to some air in the water lines and some initial black cloudy water, would not recommend drinking. H20 saving toilet, gurgles a lot and low setting Did not have any meals here, can't help there. Empty tray from meal placed in hall, stayed there for over 15 hours, never a nice thing. Housekeeping not very visible but halls/common areas clean (other than dinner/room service trays). A lot of events held here, so you know its a popular place! Would for sure stay here again!
