“Perfect escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

My husband and I were fortunate enough to win a stay at this spectacular resort by bidding on a package at a charity event in Los Angeles. We found ourselves at the Meadowood quite unexpectedly the Saturday morning after the charity event. The room was absolutely charming with it's vaulted ceiling and private sitting area. On top of that the staff was lovely and accommodating. The large sitting area in the lobby with it's wood burning fireplace and piano was very welcoming. Our favorite feature of the room was our enormous oval bathtub, which we must have used at least 5 times in 24 hours. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the location was very convenient to many fabulous wineries and restaurants. If you are a looking for a weekend getaway at a romantic resort, you cannot do better then the Meadowood.

The accomodations at Meadowood are second to none. Our room had all the modern necessesties and more. While the facilities were excellent so was the staff and service. When you take this and place it in the magical Napa Valley setting...there are very few places that compare. Highly recommended...

My wife and I stayed here in February and had a great experience. The room was very nice and well complimented by wood burning fireplace. Unfortunately the restaurant was under renovation, but the grill was great. The highlight of the stay was a private excursion with the Master Sommelier Gilles. Worth every penny and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for that special Napa experience.

We got a decent rate by booking through our Amex Platinum Card, which also got us free breakfast each day, but it was still quite pricey. We stayed here the week between Christmas and New Years 2011, which is typically the low season in Napa Valley, but there were a lot of last minute bookings because the weather was unusually good (sunny and dry) and the weather up in Tahoe was also sunny and dry, which was bad for them. This resort is quite lovely and quite unlike any other place I've ever stayed. For one thing, the grounds are quite spread out (it was a good 1/2 mile from our cottage to the gym/pool area and 1/4 mile to the dining room) and everything is bucolic. There is a sense of peacefulness and privacy that cannot be replicated even in the poshest hotels. However, some may not like it for this same reason (if the weather had not been so nice, I don't know if we would have enjoyed walking so much just to get breakfast and do other activities). Our room was spectacular, with great views of the woods and surrounding mountains and a spacious bathroom (particularly compared to our NYC apartment). The gym is nice and the pool was heated (though we did not use it). The restaurant is fantastic - also very pricey, but worth the money.

This was our second time at Meadowood and it impressed me even more. Our last stay was in a Treeline Cottage Room; this time was in the Lawnview Room with Fireplace. Both options are incredibly cozy, tastefully decorated and offering the best beds I've ever slept in. Although the Treeline Cottage Room may provide more privacy during the busier months, the Lawnview Room provides a lovely view looking out across the croquet lawn and golf course. And in January when we were there, it too is also very quiet. The resort is large and the grounds are gorgeous with several recreational facilities and over 4 miles of hiking trails. You can partake in a multitude of activities but be sure not to miss out on their spa; I had one of the best massages ever. Ask for Tamra! The resort is ideally situated right off the Silverado Trail where there are incredible wineries within a very short drive. The Restaurant was closed for renovations while we were there but is scheduled to open again in March so I look forward to that on our next visit. The Grill however was excellent. Meadowood is the perfect place to decompress and yet be close to a variety of attractions. It's stellar operation and it’s wonderful staff deserve a 5+ star rating!

Room Tip: There are a variety of accommodations that would fit any need. Their website has an interactive map...

I was at Meadowood Napa Valley during my honeymoon, in December.
It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to.
The team is amazing, the treatment you receive is 100% personalized (everyone knows that we were in honeymoon, always gave us something special, one of the most amazing teams I have ever see).
Restaurants are amazing, from Breakfast to Dinner (both, not only the most expensive one, but also "The Grill".
The city has lots of beautiful wineries to visit, but if you want you can stay most of the time at the hotel doing the tons of activities available.
Definitely a place that I will try to visit again in the future, worth every dollar! I recommend it to Couples, Family, every type of trip.

Room Tip: Ask for the cricket camp front rooms.

It has been a few year. We stayed in a Lawnview Alcove Room which is very close to the restaurant and main lodge. I believe the room has been renovated recently. The step down room with a nice sitting area, fireplace, terrace with the lawn view and super cozy bed. Service is great, resort ground is really nicely kept. They always have fresh apple, ice tea or lemonade in the main lodge which is a nice touch. We had one dinner at the restaurant, the chef's menu is to die for…. A true Michelin 3 star dinner experience! Can't wait to go back!
