“great for locals and those with car”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We have stayed here several times, we live 2 miles away. It is the perfect getaway if you have no desire to go anywhere else. The rooms are great, very quiet, beautiful tubs and glorious views of the river. It is connected to Scott's Restaurant which has wonderful breakfast (creme brulee french toast) and dinner (although a bit overpriced). It also has a full-service spa (Spa Lale) that is very reasonably priced. We have hung out by the pool and had drinks and food in the summertime and sat by the fire pit in the winter. There is a running trail along the river that runs directly from it. If you are coming to see downtown, you will need a car and it is only surrounded by homes so there is no walking to shops or stores. Land Park, the zoo and fairtytale town are nearby and they may have a shuttle, not sure. I have not seen too many children but no reason not to bring them. My only suggestion for the hotel would be to expand the food/provisions provided for purchase given the lack of stores close by.

Room Tip: If your not from Sacramento, get a room with a river view, worth it. All rooms are quiet.

Thank you for your review! Yes, many locals do stay with us as we are just outside of the downtown area and we have everything on property so one does not to leave unless desired. Thank you for the suggestion to expand the sundry shop and more food options, as that is something we are looking into. Also thank you for adding the room tip, all of our rooms are quiet, all of the windows are quadruple paned so the noise from outside is quelled. Again, thank you for writing this review and we hope to have you as our guest again soon.

“Beautiful hotel, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My daughter was recently married at the Le Rivage and it was an excellent experience. Everything was handled well, the staff was super attentive and responsive to our needs, and it all went off without a hitch.
The hotel itself is beautiful, located right on the river in Sacramento. The room we had for wedding preparation was nice, bathroom was awesome, but it looked out over the parking lot and freeway, so I would book a river view room if we stay there again. The hotel and grounds are lovely. The wedding took place on the lawn by the river, and there were lots of shouts of congratulations by passing boaters, which was actually really nice.
But what made this such a pleasant experience was the staff of the hotel and adjoining restaurant (Scott's Seafood). We were treated like royalty, never opened a door for ourselves, and when we needed things for the room, like chairs for the makeup and hairstylist ladies, they were brought up immediately. The restaurant staff so were helpful in setting up for the rehearsal dinner, wedding, and the last-minute Sunday brunch for 10! And Chelsey, the onsite wedding coordinator, did a fantastic job, not only in the planning phase (super helpful), but on the day of the wedding she was there the entire time and made sure things went well.
All in all, the experience at Le Rivage was excellent.

Room Tip: Go for the river view.

Thank you very much for your review!!! It's reviews like these that keeps us going. At Le Rivage, our main goal is that you, the guest, is satisfied in each and every way from your room to the valet to breakfast in the morning to every interaction with a staff member. I am very pleased that we were able to accoplish this with you and your wedding party. Thank you very much for writing and we hope to have you back as our guest in the future.

“A Nice Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

I stayed at Le Rivage for four nights in September while attending a close friends funeral. Everything was very nice. The bathroom was OUTSTANDING!! The view is so, so since you are really only looking at a boat docks with a few boats....nothing much on the other shore. There was a wedding or two being held every evening, which was entertaining to watch but, if I were on vacation I might not have enjoyed all the hussle and bussle. The river view room is nice but, the sun is extreme in the early evening....just FYI.
The best part about this hotel is for sure the food. Scott's Seafood is outstanding. Since I was there for a funeral I really didn't go out much. The dining room is lovely but, outdoors at night is so nice with four rock fires burning on the outside dining area. They are spread out so all the tables can enjoy them. The room service is also outstanding, which I personally find very hard to find. All and all I would definitely come back. Book your room at Travelocity, Expedia or another discount website because they are pricey and I got a very good deal. I think I did mine through Room77.com

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am sorry for the reason that brought you to Sacramento, but in reading your review I hope we were able to help you relax and get your mind off of things. You were here during the thick of wedding season and we do a lot of weddings each year, but I am glad that the hustle and bustle of wedding days did not bother you. Also keep in mind that we match rates, so if you do find a rate you like out there in cyberspace please call the hotel and let us know because we will definitely match that rate. Again, thank you for writing this review and look forward to your return to Sacramento.

“Relax by the riverside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Comfortable and clean, the Le Rivage Hotel offers good food, friendly and attentive staff and a pleasant stay, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Take a walk along the riverfront and enjoy the view of the boats and wildlife.

Room Tip: Ask for a "riverside room" to enjoy the boats and water, but also to avoid the noise from...

“Job well done Le Rivage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

My fiancé and I stayed here to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. When we looked online for nice hotels in the area for a sort of "Staycasion” there were plenty of choices for us but we are sick of chain hotels they never seem to make you feel welcome...amd there was something about the Le Rivage that kept telling us to stay here. When we called the hotel to check the rates we were told that because we were locals we get a extra 20% off the normal rate which right off the bat had us excited to stay. Whomever helped us on the phone ( I didn’t catch their name) but they were amazing and very helpful they answered all of our questions and even told us about things like the pool and how it stays open all night just as long as you are quite (and we were) and about some fire pits that they light every night for guests to sit and enjoy the river. (and we did we brought our own items and made smores) From the second I hung up the phone I was confident that we were making the right choice for a place to spend our special night with. The day that we arrived at the hotel i thought we were at the wrong place. The hotel was lined with beautiful flowers and looked like a place we right off the bat not able to afford. We were greeted with warm smiles by the valet and had help with our luggage. (WE FELT REALLY VIP) when we checked in the agent greeted us with a nice big "welcome to the le Rivage" the check in was fast and just like the phone call very informative. A bellman helped us all the way to the room telling us history of the hotel and asked if it was our first time here (we must of really looked shocked or something) when we entered the room my fiancé’s mouth fell to the floor the rooms were something else!!! The room had a beautiful view of the river; the bed was perfectly made with chocolates on the pillows (Just like the movies!) We also were shown a safe in the room as well as a refrigerator by the bellman. We really felt like a million bucks! Before we could get settled we stepped into the bathroom and let me start by saying HOLY COW! I have stayed in a lot of hotels before because of business but never one with a bathroom like this. It came with a claw foot bathtub and a beautiful walk in shower. Also there were two robes for us to use throughout our stay we really felt like king and queen for the entire stay we had! There was a wedding when we were there but honestly i thought it was quite nice to see the wedding ( it really gave us some ideas) and the noise wasn’t bad at all they were quite by 11 and honestly who sleeps before that on a weekend anyways!! All in all from check in to check out we were very pleased with the staff, the spa, and valet. Everyone was always smiling and ready and willing to help us in any way. The Le Rivage was the best hotel i or my fiancé has ever stayed in and the people there were so perfect you would think they all took some king of hospitality class for that kind of attention. Le Rivage was a home away from home even if we just lived right around the corner. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking to have the most memorable nights of their life or for someone who just needs to get away from reality and step into what it’s like to be a KING OR QUEEN even if it’s just for a night.
