Reservations were not quite as smoothly handled as others have been, but arrived here after a seven hour day of driving from Bend and we had a renovated room, as we assumed we would from what we had read, and the pool was cool and happy hour just about to get underway!
The hotel lobby is under major renos as are other units - this is a spread out complex with exterior and interior entrances....rather motelish in some ways really. I think they are on the right track here, upgrading this dated building, but there were still quite a few little deficiencies in our room which were disappointing, but didn't ruin our stay and when we pointed these out when we were leaving, the front desk offered us a free lunch, so we stayed and enjoyed it! If you are very picky some of the little things could bother you, I suppose. The smell of paint and carpeting were a little offputting and altho there are sliding doors to a sitting area outside facing a common grassed area (which was great for relaxing on), we were hesitant to leave it open at night. The bathroom window did open and seemed quite secure and let some cool air in at night - air con was somewhat noisy. The room was clean and linens fresh and crisp. The salt water outdoor pool was wonderful. Cool and refreshing with lovely soft comfy loungers and little tented canopies to take refuge from the sun under. The lounge was great....on site with a super happy hour. Half hour drinks and food and complimentary appetizers as well! The location was a little odd....convenient to just stroll over to the mall, which was a good one, but a little dark when the sun went down and no security about that we could see and there was a sketchy fellow the mall security was trailing that was heading towards the hotel so I felt a little unsafe....glad my hubby was with me! Having said that tho, all in all it was a good stay and I hope the management can ensure the continuing renos are done quickly and consistently. It has a nice contemporary feel to it and you can see they are really trying.
