This place is a horrible! Rooms are old and very noisy. I could hear people talking at normal level through the wall. Had breakfast in the restaurant, my egg was not cooked all the way through. Had lunch with my convention and the food was bland and rubbery. The biggest problem of all is the location which is near nothing if you do not have access to a car. Nearest activities were more than a mile away. Don't waste your time staying here. If you have to stay there like I did eat at the Costco behind the hotel (the only other food venue around) and not at the pathetic overpriced restaurant.

  • Liked — Below average in every way possible
  • Disliked — tough to choose but probally the restaurant

Hi

I recently attended a conference at the Radisson. The event planners obviously got a good conference rate. This place was probably built back in the 1940s-1950s and is still painted a horrible pink. I will say one thing. It is definitely a sprawling site. I doubt if anyone would build something like this today. I got a reduced rate and I must have reserved late as they stuck me out in the compound. It looked like the Bates motel except for the paint. Attached single story rooms. The rooms were clean, but decor was like something I had not seen in a long time. I asked for a room refrig but never got one despite 2 requests to the Front Desk. I noticed the Sacto police were there one night.
The food was below par. The staff tried to be friendly but had to really struggle with it. As expected, noisy and not much privacy.
On a positive note, they had free hi-speed Internet Access and housekeeping were prompt with cleaning rooms.

I stayed one night. The room was adequate, but as others have said, more like a Motel 6 than a $100+ hotel. I was very disappointed with all the public areas which appeared tired and grimy. The conference room we used only had two bathrooms (unisex) nearby, which meant for a long wait at each break. The breakfast service was dismal - I never did get my order, but I got billed for it.

After getting the Radisson on Priceline, I read the reviews on this site and got a little discouraged. But my experience was that this hotel was perfectly fine. I thought the lobby looked good. I got there a little after 2, and couldn't check in, but was given a key card to get in to the fitness center at my request. The fitness center was better than average, with cardio equipment and lots of nautalis type equipment. When I finished working out, I was able to check in. The room faced the road (Leisure Lane), instead of what the hotel calls a "lake" (but what I would call a pond), which was less desirable, but realistically, this is a convention hotel and I'm guessing they don't shop the better rooms to Priceline. The room was pleasant and quiet. I slept well both nights. I enjoyed sitting outside one night well after dark, in the patio outside the bar, watching the illuminated fountain in the middle of the lake. The coffee shop/bar was nice. I had the breakfast buffet one morning which I didn't think was a great value as the eggs were room temp, cooler than I like them, and sadly there were fruit flies in the strawberries, but the oatmeal was actually good, and comes with a variety of add-ins.

After reading all the reviews, I was a little nervous staying here, but I have to admit that it is not as bad as the reviews make it out to be- first of all, the rooms are quite nice- not Motel 6 level, at least a step up. It is a big sprawling hotel, so your room may be far from the lobby. There is a nice lake in the middle of the grounds and a pool area. Yes, trains do go by at night, but it was not as bad as reported. In conclusion, I did enjoy the stay here, and the price was right.
