We stayed at the Radisson near the Cal Expo. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a lovely view of the "lake". Since we intented to go to the Cal Expo the free shuttle to and from Cal Expo was an added plus. The rate of $111.60 was a great bargin for a room with two queen beds and we enjoyed sitting on our deck looking at the lake after a lot of walking at the fair. The included breakfast was more than we expected; coffee or tea, a fruit plate and two pastries.

The Banqueting manager at this hotel has extremely poor customer service skills! Thinking of hosting a limited budget conference/event with 150+ people, and have guests who are vegetarian, diabetic, with very limited mobility don't go to the Radisson on Leisure Lane in Sacramento!! Have a complaint - don't waste your time expecting the banqueting manager to come and talk to you as I and colleagues found out this week. There were a couple of exceptions - one waitress on Monday evening (8/3/09) was as helpful as she possibly could have been given the limitations of the menu, the receptiionists were very professional and helped my disabled colleague yesterday to retain his room until the conference finished at 4pm. The platinum award for customer service goes to Donna the waitress in Basil's who was appointed the mouthpiece by the banqueting manager to deal with 4 of us, rather than come and address our complaints himself. Donna deserves employee of the year for her kindness, tact, diplomacy and sheer professionalism.

Not all rooms have sleep number beds as advertised. Some rooms are too far away from the lobby and have outside entrances like a motel. Staff was friendly and maintenance responsed quickly if needed. TV did not work in the room I was staying in. It is close to the airport though so that is convenient. Our room was quiet but there is a train close by but due to a fire of a train bridge that it was rerouted. Cost of the room was probably more than it needed to be for the value.

1. No free wireless Internet – each room has a short Ethernet cord. Will not be able to access your laptop from your bed. For wireless, there is a fee.
2. Insist your room to be around the lake – heard from my friends that rooms away from the lake has cockroaches.
3. Bed makes noise – do not attempt to make out. It has a thin wall…and the floor makes noise. I was visiting my friends from 1st level and could hear the footsteps above.
4. Loud and noisy, especially in the morning. There is a train railroad right near it.
5. The entry door is keyless. But plan to spend 3-5 minutes standing outside because it will not read the card. Many of us reactivates our cards but with no success.
6. Double beds are not queen-sized beds; they are full-sized beds.
7. Summer, the receptionist, lacks public relationship. You need to be firm with her or ask for someone else.
