“Top Radisson Hotel”

Not your typical Radisson. This is a beautifully laid out hotel with court yard rooms overlooking a small lake with a fountain in the middle. Great staff. Very willing to please. Would highly recommend.

Stayed 5 days. While the room was pretty clean, the noise levels from the surrounding rooms were terrible! I heard every move the occupants made in the room above me. Additionally, I could plainly hear the conversations of the occupants in the rooms that flanked my room. One room in particular, I could clearly hear the business meeting going on while I sat on the opposite side of my room! There is also a train that runs alongside the hotel throughout the day and into the night.

The outside door to my room had a gap around it. Light shone in through the gap. In some rooms, the screens were coming off and the staff failed to reattach them (could have been done by hand). The grounds were not very clean. The walkways were not swept.

The bed was clean and comfortable, but the pillows were as hard as rocks.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel, don't register at the Radisson! I'm not sensitive to noise, but this was ridiculous. Hopefully, the business meeting wasn't supposed to be confidential, because I heard every word!

I attended an event with my family in July. Hotel staff very accommodating and friendly. The pool and jogging trails were wonderful. Food, especially Sunday Brunch won raves from all.

Pardon the book-length review, I'm pretty PO'ed.

First off and absolutely disappointing! – this Radisson is not what I would call a Hotel at all. It is a sprawling Motel-complex with absolutely all guest room access directly from the outside sidewalks and parking lots. I was wakened 3-4 times every night by trains that pass about ¼ mile away, cars coming in and out of the parking lot, and other guests coming up the concrete stairwell and passing by on the concrete walkway outside our window. I have never heard of a “Hotel” with this kind of physical facility. I'm curious how many of Radisson's other Hotels have this kind of design?

I’d say it was easily a 100 yard walk from my room to the Hotel restaurant – half of that walk on outside sidewalks past the parking lot and lake.

This conference Hotel advertises data ports in the guest rooms, an amenity that I absolutely needed. BEWARE! Guests have to login with a credit card and pay $10 EACH DAY for internet service!!!

Gratefully, housekeeping did a good job cleaning our room each day. Unfortunately, the stains on the carpet and the exposed rafter ceiling gave the place the feel of a summer camp for teenagers.

Similarly, groundskeeping left much to be desired. The day I checked in, there was a lo-ball glass with cigarette butts floating in it on the walkway just outside our room. It was still there 5 days later when I checked out – as was the burned dope roach that had been dropped at the top of the stairwell. Hey, if this is your cup of tea; I’d frankly recommend everything about the physical layout of this Radisson to be wonderfully conducive to a young adult or single or swinger lifestyle. It really did not end up being the best place for our young family, nor for my daughter’s grandparents for whom I had also booked a room. My mother finally made this amusingly clear when she noticed that the Radisson Grand Ballroom had placards at the door stating “The Porn Room.” (Needless to say, it was more me than her that found this amusing!)

Radisson did make good on the room upgrade promised for an AARP reservation -- the upgrade entitles Seniors to a lakeside room featuring two outdoor patio chairs.

In the end, if I had not prepaid my reservations using Hotwire-- without a chance to get a refund -- I certainly would have switched both my and my parents' reservations to a different place. I would have preferred either a real hotel with inviting public, indoor spaces and a touch of class that goes beyond sliding lobby doors and a palm tree fountain, or a motel that charges only a percentage of the rate that this place does!

We stayed at the Radisson over May 28-30. It's a good hotel. The rooms are spacious, and appear to be recently renovated. The location is highly central. The hotel is Priceline-friendly too, which makes for a great value proposition. The pool is fine, but should be bigger. While you would not expect this hotel to look like a glorified motel with a decent lobby, it doesn't make a difference, as the room quality is high.

The staff at this hotel is extremely rude!!!! Where do they recruit from? The room was small and smelled like urine, complained several times but nothing was done. Would strongly discourage one from staying here. Sacramento has plenty of nice hotels with great staff, this is not one of them!
