“Ok for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

Good location (not great), big clean rooms, older hotel. I got it through a hotwire 3-star deal in the arden area. It was a little further away from the mall than I thought.

I called directly to the hotel early in the day, to ask for a quiet room. When I arrived I found they put me next to the ice machine. After noticing the location, I requested another room.

The new room might have been quiet. The heater fan made a lot of noise. I also told the front desk that there was an occassional beep, I thought it was the smoke alarm battery. I requested, the noises be fixed the next morning, but that repairs did not happen during my two night stay. Turning off the heater stopped the fan noise. But the beep remained.

Coming back at night, there seemed to barracades at the main roadway to the rooms. There was also a guard. My key would not open the health club. I am not sure if they are having security problems.

Room Tip: I do noty recommend room 544.

Very spread out. Being we were there on Christmas eve, it seemed like a tomb.
Area is industrial, for the most part, dead. Maybe it gets good crowds when there are conventions in town, considering it's proximity to Cal Expo, etc. Otherwise, I can't see any reason to stay here. Okay, maybe one: The Sleep # beds, that's it.

Our room had some problems the first night (Christmas eve). Staff was attentive to them (the heater didn't seem to be heating as high as we'd like, "bring a couple of blankets, please").
Then the first time we ran the shower, the knob fell off and we couldn't at first turn the water off. Finally did figure it out, just before we had a flood :) Staff fixed that one the next morning (Christmas)
No maid service on Christmas. Guess we got too late of a start for their rounds (there weren't that many people there, and management probably wanted to send the staff home early so they could spend time with their families).

Hotel is converting back to the name before it was a Radisson before too long. Radisson knows a dud when it sees one. Probably deferring the maintenance too. Wonder if they're taking the sleep # beds with them too.. We might want to buy one of them.

Room Tip: get one near the hot tub :)

It is upsetting when expectations are not met and we regret that your overall impression of our hotel does not reflect the level of quality we continuously strive to deliver. Although it's unfortunate that you encountered several issues at the time of your stay, we are glad that you reached out to our staff and they were able to take care of your concerns. Average. More like a 2 star hotel. I will stay here again only if other options are exhausted. Very basic, no frills motel on a laaaarge property. I have no problem with that but don't advertise it as a 3 star hotel. Women traveling alone should avoid this hotel as the property is huge and not well lit.

Room Tip: Stay close to the lobby.

I would suggest avoiding this hotel at all costs. For a start, it's a motel - not a hotel. The lobby area is nice, however you then drive around the (rather large) property to your room and park there, with direct outside access to the rooms. The walls are paper thin, making it difficult to sleep if you're a light sleeper, as the "hotel" is close to the freeway and also railroad tracks. It didn't help that there appeared to be a loud wedding party on the night I stayed. If there is any noise or commotion going on outside - you'll hear it.

Upon finding a parking spot near the hotel lobby to check in, we were literally screamed at by a valet attendant for parking in the valet lot - the signs for parking are small and not at all lit, making it impossible to see at night - and we were just following the directions given to us by a different parking attendant upon entering the hotel property!

On the upside, the hotel does offer Sleep Number beds in rooms which I find to be comfortable, and the front desk staff is friendly and efficient.

We do regret that your stay was not the positive experience we hope all of our guests will have. It was surprising to hear that you felt you were improperly spoken to by the parking valet as our staff prides itself on delivering friendly services; however we are always grateful for the feedback so that we may address the issues with our managers and supervisors. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us.

This is a huge property, with many ammenities and a pretty good location. I've stayed here twice - once in a standard room towards the back of the property, and once with the 'waterfront room' upgrade. Both times the rooms were nice and clean, and had the perk of a Sleepnumber bed. The waterfront room was especially nice because it had a back door and patio that faced the lovely pool/outdoor area, and had easy access to the restaurant/bar. Front desk service is decent, but some staff members were not too knowledgeable. Overall, I'd probably stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Cal Expo area of Sacramento.

At the Radisson Hotel Sacramento we truly value our returning guests. It really makes us happy to know that during your second stay you enjoyed your upgraded room with the sleep number bed and easy access to the outdoor areas and restaurant. We hope that you will visit us for a third time. The hotel is not only conveniently close to the Cal Expo but we are also just 5 minutes from the Capitol, Old Sacramento, Arden Fair Mall, Railroad Museum, and the Light Rail System. The hotel has a surprising appeal. It is a huge place, with a different main hotel building surrounding a nice lake. Then a lot of separate other buildings. Ours was the furthest from the main building; the walk wasn't too bad. The outer buildings look like they used to be a different motel. There is a mixture of single storied buildings and then a few two-story motel looking buildings. The rooms are spacious and clean and the first hotel we've ever stayed at with "Sleep Number Beds". It was actually pretty comfortable once we got our number, and we liked the pillows too. The breakfast on Sunday morning in the restaurant was a buffet of hot dishes. The usual breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, potatoes, fruit. It was fairly good for a buffet. Overall we had a great experience and would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the lake then you'll need to be sure to ask for that, and the rooms will b...

The rooms at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento are not your traditional hotel rooms. Contemporary fashion with a Mediterranean/Spanish ambiance is throughout all our guestrooms giving the hotel a more comfortable feel with all the comforts of home. We’re thrilled that enjoyed your Sleep Number Bed® and the breakfast buffet and are happy to see that you will return in the future. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back.
