Another last minute over night stay in Sacramento, California had me searching for a room, and much to my surprise the Hyatt Regency Sacramento on “L” street still had Saturday night rooms available. The property is directly across from the State Capital and just east of the Capital Mall, and a short walk to the convention center, so very nicely located.
Although the property has been here for many years, you surely can’t tell by the way it is still sleek and modern looking in appearance and function. Valet and self parking is available in a multi-level structure connected to the hotel for convenience. The expansive lobby is comfortable and un-crowded, the pool area clean and well maintained. And to Hyatt standards my 9th floor room was a clean match to the brand expectations, coffee/tea, ironing board, large flat panel TV, pillow soft bedding, discreetly placed safe (large enough for your laptop/tablet), modern bathroom with no signs of wear and tear. Even the work desk was nicely laid out, with power outlets at desktop level, a nice and convenient touch for the true road warrior worker.
A visit to the lobby bar was rewarded with a elegant bar setting, with both indoor and patio seating, inside 4 flat panel TV’s and a full appetizer menu. Saundra and “Mitch” were pleasant and efficient in providing service. I didn’t dine at Dawson’s onsite steak house, though the setting looked quite nice (almost formal), though did notice they had a nice Port menu to accompany their fine dining, always a nice touch.
All in All a very nice property, so if you want a full service hotel location, this property fulfills the need quite nicely in function, staff and service.
