“New Years Eve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2011

Had a wonderful time at their New Years Eve Party. Great service. Best unobstructed view for the fireworks. Atmosphere was fantastic. Staff very warm and helpful. Casino was fun. Everyone was dancing even in the isles. Will definitly attend again.

It was our anniversary and we did not want to get on an airplane. Sacramento was close and we had heard a lot of good things about the Delta King. We were delighted. The staff is anxious to go the extra mile. The restaurant is extraordinary. There are great things to do- on and off the boat. The history of the boat is amazing. It is really something special to be able to stay aboard an authentic part of history. The rooms are nicely done and the included breakfast is a wonderful finish to a nice stay. Highly recommended.

We flew into Sac for business and then decide that we would stay in old town and then found the Delta King which is a remodeled river paddle boat that has been converted into a hotel and restaurant. Love it! Cute charming and very friendly. the rooms are small but the bed was very comfortable and there was no smell of mold which my wife is allergic to. Charlie the manager was great to work with and was very friendly, they had live music and a mystery dinner theater which we didn't attend but looked like fun. We got up and had the complementary breakfast which was great and then were right there in old town.

This is the perfect place to stay if you need to be near the city but don't want to be in the city. You're right on the water with all of it's calming beauty, and just minutes from downtown. Comfy rooms, good food, good drinks, good service... what more could you want?

Celebrated our Silver Wedding Aniversary at this hotel as part of our road trip in California. The hotel is very easy to find with car valet parking right in front of the hotel on Front Street. The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very good for the price paid, reasonable size bearing in mind you are staying on a converted paddle steamer. The hotel is full of character, and sitting on the decks in the evening sun was brilliant. Conveniently located for Old Sacramento.

My wife requires a Gluten free diet, and the menu in the Pilothouse Restaurant is one of the most comprehensive we have seen with plenty of dishes to choose from.
Highly recommended.

Our room at this boat/hotel has to win the award for the smallest room we have ever stayed in, but we still had a good time. We were there for a wedding in March 2010. The weather was great, the area was fabulous, old town Sacramento. We have stayed many times at the Hotel Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, so we are accustomed to old ship standards of hotels. The Delta King was very pretty, but not the most comfortable. If you go, you should be aware of this, it's more about the atmosphere than the accommodations.
The bride and groom stayed in the Captain's Suite and said it was very comfortable. It was definitely large.
The lounge was a lot of fun, friendly service and a fun band. The food at the banquet we went to (for about 40 people) was excellent.
Pros: great atmosphere and location
Cons:Really small room
It was not my favorite place, but others might love it. I would recommend it to those I know would appreciate it.

We stayed on the Delta King as part of a California road trip. It was exciting to stay on a river boat and to be in the heart of Old Sacramento. The boat was near to lots of shops, restaurants and the excellent Rail Road Museum [a must-see, even if you have little interest in trains!]. The breakfast was great and included in the price of the room. It was lovely in the evening to enjoy a margarita outside on the upper deck.
My only minus points would be the lack of parking nearby, the fairly expensive valet service and the size of the "cabins" which have very little space to fit in suitcases. I was glad we only stayed for one night because of this lack of room.
