“Excellent Experience”

perfect positioned close to Old Sacramento, all attractions in walking distance. Very romantic place! Valet parking available, you won't need the car while you stay there. Room atmosphere brings you back to early 20th century.

Room Tip: rooms to river

Had a great time on the Delta King the rooms were large for a river boat the food was great and right on the river with all of the old history. Was in Old Town Sac. and the view on the river was great with the small boats up and down the river. We rode the train from Reno stayed the night and rode the train back the next day.
Had a great time

Very cool hotel in historic Old Sacramento on the river. Beautifully restored. Stroll through Old Sac at your leisure. The boat has two restaraunts. Breakfast is excellent. We had dinner right next door at Joes Crab Shack. Staff very helpful.

The Delta King riverboat hotel made for a lovely stay. Guests can sit on the decks and see birds, seals and occasionally otters that have come up the river from San Francisco. It's attached to land by a permanent plaza that can be used for parties or receptions. The guest rooms, bathrooms, and doorways are compact, as could be expected from the boat's history. But they're clean and quaint, very comfortable and nostalgic, kind of like bed and breakfast rooms are in historic homes. I liked it very much.

The walk up the bumpy public boardwalk and then down the ramp onto the boat would not be easy for someone with serious physical limitations, and my room floor was slightly slanted because the design of the whole boat is somewhat curved. I'm guessing there are rooms that feel more flat if they're in the middle of the boat. The slant added to the feeling of being on a boat.

The desk clerk recommended a restaurant in downtown Sacramento when I asked about Tapas - Tapa The World. She was right, it was excellent and her directions were accurate. I would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I were looking for a fun place and found it on the Delta King. The cabins are small but well furnished. The shower was a bit cramped but we understood that even thou the Delta King doesn't sail that it is still an old Riverboat. The cabin had a nice TV, Air Conditioning and free WiFi. The breakfast was in the Pilothouse which was the main restaurant. Talk about a feeling of Nostalgic - this is a perfect setting. The dinner here was a bit expensive and fell flat. We did have dinner in the more casual Delta Bar and Grill and this we felt was more fun and a better value for the Bar Food. The Irish music on Thursday night was perfect. Since we live just an hour away we are looking forward to returning.

Used a travelzoo coupon to book this "hotel" at a reasonable price. It was a lot of fun. This is truly just a riverboat; parked at a pier in Old Sacramento. The railroad museum next door and access to the American river trail real easy. Bike can be rented.

The "balcony" is really just an outside deck where chairs and tables are available just outside you room/"cabin".

Breakfast on board (included with the travelzoo offer) was good. Not interesting, not great, just good. Well done eggs, decent fried potatoes, ordinary meats, and a decent muffin. Have coffee in your room before going to breakfast - as with many restaurants they think that offering a bottomless cup of lousy coffee is better than having one good cup. They do give you a nice arabica coffee and pot in the rooms.

Great location for tourists. It's right in Old Sacramento, practically next door to the Railroad Museum and just a short walk to the Crocker Museum. On board rooms were on the small side, but very clean and quiet. Very friendly staff. On site restaurant was very good for dinner. Many other dining choices are close by, I would stay again.
