“A little bit of history!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

What a fun experience to have stayed 2 days on a river boat. This little piece of history is located on the water, right by the old towne area of Sacramento. You can walk around and enjoy the unique shoppes or else head to the bar and grille to enjoy a nice glass of wine and a bite to eat.

This is in the heart of Old Sac right on the water. The boat has great history and there are lots of pictures and things to see on the boat. Beautiful old wood work. The rooms have been redone and have everything you need. Coffee maker, blow dryer, TV etc. The rooms are a little on the small side (its a boat) but not too tight. The sheets are rough, the bed is OK but not fantastic. It is a great location in that you are right across the street from the center of Old Sac. Dinner, breakfast and cocktails on the Delta King were all over the top. Great place for a day or two to explore the boat and Old Sac.

Room Tip: Windows in standard rooms are small, the river view was nice but I think the city view would be inte...

I will start with a wow! Such a lovely place to stay! Staff are professional, rooms are clean, location and views are unbeatable! We stayed here during the Xmas holidays with the Travelzoo deal. Arrived from SF by train. Within walking distance from AmTrak station. Old Sacramento is at your doorstep, you walk straight into it. Railway museum is a short walk to the west ( 5 min). Walk through Old Sacramento and you find yourself in the mall after which you are in K street which takes you to State Capitol ( turn right from K and 10th). Rooms are very clean. Had a good sleep, no noise. Great dining area and bar. Overall, 5 stars!

Ship has character and charm, but the rooms, although clean and attractive, are not especially comfortable. Besides the fact the floor slants because the ship is built that way, the sheets are rough muslin - my biggest complaint. At this price point, the linens should be good quality. And my first mattress was not good (but they cheerfully moved me to a much better bed with a sincere apology.) The furniture in the rooms is not comfortable, the TVs are set to the wrong aspect ratio so everything looks distorted. These are not rooms you relax in, you sleep there and leave, just as it would have been in the old days. However, the breakfast included with the room was good, the restaurants are very attractive and the staff was very nice. It's fun for one night but that was enough for me.

Room Tip: Every room is unique - and this is not a place for people with ANY kind of physical limitation.

Wife & I went to CA for a wedding last summer. We wanted to see some sites while out there. We stayed on the Delta King it was really fun! The food was good the original little stateroom was really something, much more interesting than the typical hotel also nice being on the water.

Stayed at this hotel over New Year's weekend -- very nice to be so close to Old Town, Sacto during the holidays. Choice for pub restaurant was fine for the food and drinks, but when I noticed the many, many cobwebs overhead along the ceiling wall, that was a definite appetite turnoff. Bedding okay, mattress a little on the soft side but comfortable for me -- although for some reason housekeeping had tucked the duvet/blanket cover in several feet at the bottom, and we kept laughing while trying to pull up the covers up over our shoulders, to no avail. Thought the cover was the wrong size for the bed, but in the morning found out the cover had been tucked in at the bottom about 2 feet, thereby shortenening the length. Also, bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped, again, a turn-off.

Room Tip: Staying in a townside room is a little noisy, with people talking while clomping along the gangway u...

Used a Groupon and got an excellent deal. We took a one day getaway and enjoyed our time in Old Sac. Finding a place to park is difficult in Old Sac; they do have Valet, use it! It cost $16 for the night, well worth it. Check-in and Check-out were very smooth, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We got room 312. A large room but right next to the lobby and very loud (all night). Recommend a River View corner room on deck 4. Bed was a little hard, linens and decor were nice. Remember, this is an old restored river boot, everything is a bit small. It's a neat experience. The restaurants on board were nice, again employees were very friendly. The location cannot be beat, as Old Sac is right outside of the boat. Lots of fun shops and killer restaurants. Try Ten22, an awesome place for a great meal.

Room Tip: Get a River View room, not room 312.
