I have stayed here several times in the past year (travel for business). The rooms are a little dark but pretty comfortable and they have good internet access if you need it for business. The location is not downtown and only a few over-priced, mediocre restaurants are walking distance.

The Ramada is an inexpensive motel that offers great value and accommodations. It is in a convenient area northwest of downtown that has many motel choices, only 1-2 miles away from Old Sacramento, just off an entrance to I-5. The staff is very helpful and pleasant, especially the manager, Bobby. We asked for and got a quiet room away from the interstate, room 202. It was clean, large, had a king size bed, and a small fridge and microwave. Breakfast is more than adequate with cereal, waffles, bagels, muffins, yogurt, toast, fruit, etc. The dining options behind the hotel are somewhat expensive, although you get a 10 or 15% discount showing your room key. The Monterey Canning Co. had good seafood platters, but we felt that the Memphis BBQ was loud with less than adequate food--better to go into downtown to eat, especially J St., from 8th to 33rd St. has many dining options on almost every block. There is also free use of the internet on the one computer in the lobby.
All in all, we highly recommend the Ramada for anyone with wants good value in a motel and does not need to stay in downtown Sacramento.

We booked this hotel in Hotwire thinking it would be in downtown Sacramento, but actually it's a 10-minute drive on the next exit from downtown Sacramento. It is near Old Sacramento. We had a room facing the freeway and the pathway smelled of urine. But once we were in our room it was fine. It was nicely decorated, and had a queen size bed. Everything was okay, no small refrigerator however. I liked their complimentary breakfast: you had a selection of cereals, pastries (even bagels!), juices and coffee was good.

  • Liked — Nicely decorated
  • Disliked — Smell of urine coming from the bushes outside

When they cleaned the room it was good. Close to 4 very good but a little spendy resturants behind hotel. Our room was next door to maintenance. The room above us had a couple of kids running around till at least 10 pm. Office people were nice. Had stay down stairs ( Disabled ). All in All comfortable.

We go to Sacramento a couple of times a year and always choose the Ramada Discovery Park. It's a very convenient location right off the freeway, close to Old Sacramento, the Rivercats ballpark, and not far from downtown. Several good restaurants are just down the block, including Memphis Barbecue where we have enjoyed some good meals and drinks in a casual atmosphere. The rooms are well kept and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. When I needed a safety pin one time, the receptionist practically searched the whole hotel to find me one! There are always extra pillows or other needed amenities on request. have to make special mention of the beds which are remarkably comfortable for motel beds. If you are looking for fancy accommodations or a romantic getaway, the Ramada Discovery Park is probably not for you. But if you just need a clean and comfortable place to sleep while traveling or on business in the area, you cannot go wrong here.
