Hope the headline says it all... I'm an SPG platinum guest and I spend a lot of time throughout the world in SPG hotels - this one is very pricy for such poor quality. New? Yes. But new using the cheapest building materials possible! Paper thin walls, super cheap furniture, and the lasting taste that you've paid way too much!! Next time I'll try my hardest to skip sac - this hotel is way too expensive! It should be a $60 room.

For now one has to live here with a construction site surrounding three sides of the hotel: Ask for a room on the quiet side! Entering the lobby one notices immediately that this is one of those "modern" hotels that put their restaurant in the middle of everything. This results in cooking smells all over the lobby. Rooms are pleasant, beds are fine. The color scheme of the rooms differs from the often found blue of other Four Points hotels. Here the main color is brown which provides a much warmer atmosphere. A few features are different from the usual hotel style: There is a European closet with full size mirror on the inside of the closet door and small compartments for hair dryer, coffee maker etc. No ceiling light in the main room, and you have to do a bit of detective work in order to find the different light switches for the wall and table lamps. Why not one kind of switch for each of them? The bathroom has no tub (at least in our room). It looks pleasant but the huge shower doors are not practical: They don't close all the way, water runs out and already damaged the wooden enclosure of the bathroom door. The people who design Four Points hotels do a good job in getting away from the standardized looks we are used to for decades. But they neglect the practicality of a lot of items on their way to a new style.

Needed to stay on the northside of Sacramento for a week. After checking out availability and prices, decided to try Priceline for a 2 1/2 stars or better. Was astounded at the price quoted for the 4 Points Sheraton!!

The Hotel is fairly new as others have noted. We were on the 4th floor, with a large room, 2 large very comfortable, pillow-top beds, wide screen LCD wall TV, and couldn't have been happier. Also the bath had a tub, and I thought the white tile and walls was nifty and clean looking. The other reviews on this hotel seem to have some very lofty expectations. The bar and breakfast food was pricey, but we had a car, so we ate at the Sizzler or IHOP, and breakfast at IKEA was great, but it's about a 5 mile drive down the Interstate.

We used the hot tub and pool, on several occassions, both were good, clean and hot, except the pool was a bit chilly, but really felt good after a long sweaty day.

We had no contact with the staff, except for checking in and out, the maid was efficient, no problems, bed was always made and the room clean. We participated in the hotel's saving energy program, and didn't request clean sheets, and kept towels for a couple of days, to help the environment.

Would stay again for a reasonable price, which was much lower than the $152 indicated by TripAdvisor.

I stayed at this hotel recently on business. For Sacramento, this is a convenient hotel for a business meeting. We had people fly and drive in. For drivers, it's conveniently located off the freeway. For flyers, the hotel offers free shuttle.

The hotel rooms are quite nice with wall mounted flat screen TVs, free internet, and comfortable beds. The hotel has a very Ikea feel to it with modern furnishings. The bathroom door is a little odd as it's a sliding barn door style with no door lock. My biggest oddity is the lack of any dresser drawers. Rather, there are baskets in a low sitting table.

The meeting rooms are functional, though sound proofing may be a little bit of a challenge. Next to our meeting was a very loud meeting making it difficult to hear our meeting at times.

The breakfast is okay...nothing to write home about. IHOP is just across the freeway as is several other restaurants. There is NOTHING except a Walgreen's in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel is worth recommending for a brief business stay. It's definitely not a vacation destination.
