We chose this hotel for a Sacramento River Cats Triple-A baseball game and night out. The hotel is in a great location right across the river from the stadium (10min. walk) and right across the street from Old Town Sacramento with shopping, food, entertainment and historical sites.
It is a typical large Embassy Suites. The room was clean but a tad worn, but large, clean, and open. The obvious upsides of most Embassy Suites like this one is the free breakfast and free beer/wine happy hour every night. This site had a restaurant attached as well that seemed very nice and had a bistro type feel. The lobby was beautiful and clean, but crowded like usual during the free fod rush hours.
The staff and valet crew were great. Nice, personalble and even helped printout some driving directions for us. The $15/night parking was a bit much, but included valet and those guys were great. Parking is all metered or charged in that area anyway. I did see some baseball or other packages on their website that included the parking in the price.
The only issue we had was that our room faced I-5 and we could hear the traffic. We decided to live with it and really didn't botehr us at all when we went to bed.

we were high up which was nice, but faced the City (which means overlooking freeway) but that wasn't a problem.

Having flow in from UK (ten hours), then having negotiated San Fransisco rush hour I was really please how easy it was to locate hotel. Empty you car of valuables and public parking across street was fine at $15 a day.

Managers reeption (free drink and chips) was nice touch and breakfast was very good. Location just a block away from old Sacramento was major incentive for booking but rest of City is easily accesible for musuems etc.

Just returned from Sacramento and 2 nights at the wonderful Embassy Suites. Check in was a breeze, all of the staff was helpful...especially the valet guys - they always asked when we got into the car if we needed directions. The room was comfortable, spacious, and I noticed every time we walked in how nice it smelled. The beds were like marshmellows. The manager's cocktail party was nice - okay so they just had chips and salsa, veggies, and pretzels...but a very nice selection of beer and wine. Breakfast was the absolute best - such variety and everything was delicious! My daughter used the fitness center both mornings and although it was small, it had everything necessary for a decent workout. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly!! A lovely hotel in a great location.

Our room was clean and nicely appointed. Staff were all friendly. The hotel was packed with kids (weekend sports event) but it appeared the hotel had staffed up for the onslaught. Breakfast was very good. The location is great. We came in on the train and the hotel is less than a mile from the station.
