If you have stayed at an Embassy Suites before, then you can expect the same here. Good hotel, very clean, situated right on the Sacramento River, but beware, also right next to a busy freeway. If you want a quiet room, ask for one facing the river on a upper floor. Two of the other sides face a busy street and highway. Noise was not too bad, but you could hear it. The nice thing about this hotel is that it is right across the street from Old Town Sacramento which has a number of nice restaurants and quaint little shops. It also holds the Sacramento Train Museum - which if you are interested, is really remarkable. You can walk to the capitol, - but it is a ways - maybe a half mile to mile? I can't gauge it - but you are on the same street as the capitol. I stayed here on business and have been reading about the parking charges - I didn't see that since my company contracted for it, but if you want cheaper parking, you can park right across the street in a public parking garage far cheaper and overnight. If you came in on the river side, just go up the street, hang a u turn and turn right into the garage when you get opposite the hotel. Food was fine and overall a nice stay.
