“Honeymoon Night .... Gorgeous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

This is an exceptional Embassy Suites. The huge sculptures in the lobby and front entrance are stunning and very Art Deco. The view outside our 6th floor window was the lovely Sacramento River and the Tower Bridge. My husband and I had a two week vacation in France, where he proposed to me in Paris. So we opted to have a nice wedding and just spend one night in Sacramento (we live nearby). It was fantastic. The breakfast was perfect. I had a design your own egg white omelette that was superb. We walked along the Tower Bridge and hit Old Town. Very nice rooms and great in-room coffee.

Room Tip: Ask for riverview close to the Tower Bridge.

I was a bit annoyed that there was a charge for wifi, even though I was a Hilton honors member ( apparently recently changed so you have to be on the third or fourth hilton honors tier to get it free) but I guess they don't make the rules. Otherwise across the street from Old Town and near train museum. Breakfast was standard embassy suites food and very good for free. Many event going on at once so it got very noisy when sitting in room living room area but no noise when bedroom door was closed. Husband used exercise room and it was fine although swimming pool had strong chlorine odor when passing that area.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites for a 50th Class High School reunion. We were treated likes kings and queens. When I was too late for the breakfast one morning, some of the personnel put together some items for me to eat. They were very friendly and accommodating. The cocktails in the evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM were fantastic. We have never stayed in the hotel, even in Europe, that served free cocktails. We were thrilled to be able to meet up with our high school old friends and the hotel's amenities made our trip very comfortable. We will refer your hotel to other friends and relatives for their stay in Sacramento, California. Thank you for letting us respond by letting other know what a great place you have. Keep up the great customer service as it will pay off. Sincerely, Linda Gibson

Very nice clean hotel. Great location right at end of Old Town Sacramento overlooking the Tower Bridge & river. Walking distance to all of Old Town. Great Breakfast & Wine Hour! Friendly Staff!!! Always enjoy our stay here!!! Only disappointment...rates get hiked too much for holiday stay...New Year's...triple regular rates!!!

Stayed over a Saturday night (Oct 19) for personal event. Front staff are relatively friendly, but definitely not at the professional caliber (perhaps it's the location) -- made several screw ups...see below.

The GOODS:
- Beautiful river view
- Nice 2 room suites so visitors aren't sitting in your bedroom
- GREAT (free) breakfast buffet

THE NOT SO GOODS:
- Staff surprise screw up...my LI ordered roses to be delivered before my check in. He confirmed w/the front desk at noon, they said it was delivered in my room at 1pm. I checked in at 3:45pm. He came to visit at 4:30pm...no roses. He called front desk...they "found" them and brought them up...but the romantic surprise was ruined.
- Bathtub clog - collected water immediately
- Another staff screw up at check-out. They automatically added $28 valet parking to my bill. I didn't bring my car!!! Good thing I put on my glasses and read/caught the error before leaving the hotel!
- Their "Fitness Center" -- is BAD!!!! On the lobby level -- entrance is THROUGH the eye-burning chlorine pool! The room is SOOOO small and facing/looking directly at the pool! Would be SOOO much better to have the exercise room on a higher level overlooking the river when one's doing cardio workout!!!

All in all, it's a decent property. Nice location -- next to Old Sac Town with river view. Truly -- the best part is the egg omelet station!! Ideal hotel for families.

Room Tip: River view rooms are great -- sunny and beautiful. The drawback is the noise factor -- that frequen...

We arrived late, and the outstanding valet service was a welcome sight. As we checked in, he unloaded the car and promptly took our luggage to our room arriving exactly the same time we did. Excellent room accommodations were waiting for us after walking through the atrium and riding the glass elevators. Breakfast features cooked-to-order omelets and were very good. The precooked scrambled eggs, not so much, and ditto for buffet's precooked waffles. The rest of the breakfast selections were very good - fruit, cereal, drinks. After each day's work, we arrived back at the hotel too late to try the evening complementary drinks and "happy hour," which otherwise would have been a welcome end to the work day. $28/night to park the car was a bit pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for River View room, 4th floor or higher.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are pleased to know your received outstanding service from our Valet team members. We continuously strive to live our value of warm hospitality and an acknowledgement of our success is very much appreciated. We are proud of the spacious, comfortable two-bedroom suites we provide our guests, and of our delicious, complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast. We also would like to thank you for your comments on areas we have opportunities to improve. We will share your feed back on our precooked items with our Food and Beverage team. Like many downtown Sacramento hotels and businesses we unfortunately have to charge for parking, but rest assured we strive to keep our prices competitive. We look forward to you visiting our hotel again soon.

This hotel is nice and close to Old Town for easy walking to very nice shops and restaurants. The design of the suite lends itself to comfort while working , sleeping, or just relaxing with a cup of coffee watching the news or reading the morning paper. The staff is friendly and very welcoming.
