I usually stay at Super 8 when visiting family in Sacramento as I like a hotel that provides things like microwave, fridge etc---as eating out everyday can be very expensive . This time my daughter recommended Value Place as a way to cut down on costly hotel bills as my visits range from 2-3 weeks + ..I was impressed by the cost $239 a week plus tax. The hotel is easy to find just off Hwy 99. The hotel office is closed in the evenings (and Sundays) but dialing 500 quickly summons an on site employee for check in. A $100.00 security deposit is required on check in-this is refunded on checkout barring any extra room charges or damage. The rooms are spacious queen size bed, desk, full size fridge, microwave, two burner stove top. There are additional packages available cooking utensils like pots, pans etc, coffee pot all these are yours to keep.
Housekeeping is done every other week but for an additional fee it can be done more frequently. Wi Fi is available at a cost of $10 a week.Washing machines and dryers plus snack vending machines are on the first floor. I was impressed with the security-- CCTV in lobby-your key card must be swiped to access the rest of the hotel from the lobby and also to gain access to the property as the security gate is closed after 9pm. I met many people who had been staying there for some months--it is a great safe alternative for many people who have difficulty renting because of past trouble with credit . The hotels is close to restaurants and shopping. Costco is also close by. On the same road there is a brand new California DMV.
My room was on the 3rd fl. and was fairly quiet except for the occupant of the room immediately above mine who I am convinced was doing a daily audition for Riverdance so my recommendation is ask for a room on the 4th fl--there were none available when I checked in. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will definitely stay there again :) One thing I would like to suggest for all extended stay hotels is---why not provide a toilet brush.
