“A park of the past”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

McKinely park offers something for everybody. It is a very old park that includes a beautiful restored rose garden. Many weddings and events take place there each year. The park offers a swimming pool, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, picnic area, play area (soccer, etc.), and a great pond with an island that various ducks, birds and turtles hangout. In addition, a new playground area for children has been built. A great place to spend and afternoon or evening. Across the street there are various food sources and easy freeway access.

“A Lovely Stroll”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The park has something for everyone. The walk path, jog way, open grassy areas, play area, pond area, tennis courts, handicap parking, library, and public swimming pool. The picnic area is very family friendly as is the rest of the park. Frisbee, ducks, rosegarden. It very soothing to visit. The surrounding neighborhood has beautiful homes and scaping. Great visit to relax, lunch, walk, jog, picnic, tennis or swim.

“Son's Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

The park is beautiful, although parking near it was a bit difficult. The wedding was held in the beautiful rose garden, and the reception was in the hall - across from the library. I felt bad for the library patrons as there was a sign "closed for private function" but the library was open the entire time and people were confused as if they could go in or not. I also felt sorry for the library patrons as the music from my son's wedding was a bit loud and echoed to the library whenever the hall doors were opened.

“Walking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

This is a lovely park to get my 10,000 steps in. The view is beautiful. Unfortunately, sometimes it seems to be more of a dog park with animals both leashed and unleashed running the walkway.

“Our local park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

McKinley Park is a gem of a park! It is the local park for McKinley Park neighborhood (named after the late president). Over the past number of years the park maintenance has gone downhill due to the city cutbacks. The rose garden has had a complete renovation, and is now beautiful again - a wonderful place for weddings. The Clunie Community Center management was taken over from the city by Friends of East Sac and this group has renovated the once-tired building and brought new life to it. Now, you will find it bustling with different community groups and clubs and people renting it for meetings and the grand hall for yoga (every Saturday morning it is free during the winter months!) church meetings and wedding receptions. The local library branch is located inside the Clunie Center. Our neighborhood is once again proud of this landmark building. The park itself has a jogging trail and state-of-the-art renovated tennis courts that are free to the public. The duck pond needs some help, and we are working on it. The park is a lovely place to come.
