We were a big group of 10-15 families with kids. Kids as well as adults had a good time here. It was fun to see so many different types of engines. Loved the spirit of senior volunteers who are more than willing to provide info about the locomotives. They also encourage you to watch the short movie & join the tour.
I'm a railroad buff from when I was a child. I found this to be fun and educational look at the history of railroading.
A lot of great information! There was information from the early days of California through to modern times, but emphasis placed more on 1850's - 1950's.
This is an excellent attraction, there are many, many volunteers that give of their time and they all offer insights that are interesting. Well worth the visit
Love old Sac! The Railroad Museum is a must see! It has a lot of history about Sacramento. We learned so much about different types of trains and how the railroad system came to be in California (not so proud of that).
