My wife and I were a little weary to visit this winery after reading some negative reviews here on TripAdvisor. However, I am a huge fan of their Cabernet Sauvignon so we made a reservation (all tours and tastings require reservation).
We had two coupons for 10 dollars off the tasting so it only cost 5 dollars per person. When we got there we were handed a glass with the Cakebread logo and ushered on a cramped space towards the back of their store by the wine educator.
We got to try six wines in total, three being whites and three reds. The Carneros Chardonnay, and their Napa Cabernet was excellent. The tasting went by pretty fast and the wine educator was a very nice and funny guy which made the experience quite pleasant. There was not hint of snobbery or pretentiousness. This is a great stop to make in Napa Valley, and we will be returning when we get our next chance.
