DIRTY! The only good thing about the place was that the room had an adjoining sitting area, but we could not enjoy it because the carpets were so dirty we had to wear socks in the room so our feet would not turn black! yuck

I came for business on november and found a great place to be during my stay. I stayed for 4 days, the bed was excellent, i stayed in the reseved area for non smokers, the suite was pretty, coffe was indian (i wish it was colombian). I was disappointed because I couldnt connect to intenet propperly (network problems all the time).
Great place to relax, heated pool (great), excercise area, laundry service, free great breakfast with variety of food, friendly staff (except a woman with black hair, she was a b-tch with me, i just tried to ignore her)
I would definitely come again
Well, I would like to say there is more good than bad, but I can't. I had to stay there for 8 weeks for business and unfortunately, other than a hot breakfast, there wasn't many good things.
Other than random hair in the rooms, the rooms were never re-stocked properly, I usually had a horrible response time to questions asked and worst of all the deck area where they have their evening receptions is infested with rats. If you hang around the deck, right about nightfall rats start to appear, and are not at all afraid of walking around there property. And maybe worse than that, nobody cared, the staff thought it was funny and explained they wouldn't hurt anyone. That's not the point, they are rodents and shouldn't be in the eating area! Very disappointed overall and will not stay there again.
Placed my reservations on their website. When I arrived, they had no records of my reservations. Luckily I had a copy of my reservation and confirmation number. Then she informed there were no family suites left, but ended up finding one was available. She did discount the price of the room for the inconvenience. The hotel looks like it is about 30 years old and shows alot of wear. Clean but old. Walls are thin. The breakfast was pretty good- waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, etc. Would not stay here again. Would rather stay near the hotels around the Galleria Mall.
Oxford Suites is not the cheapest available hotel, but I felt it offered great value for the price ($89/nt). I stayed three times in March and April 2005 and would stay there again.
I especially liked:
1. Free high-speed dsl internet connection in room
2. Large rooms with seperate sitting area.
3. Mini-fridge (not quite cold enough in the freezer to freeze my cooler ice tho)
4. Substantial breakfast available free of charge
5. "Happy Hour" free 2 drinks and light hors d'oeuvres (eg. do it yourself nachos). The hors d'oeuvres were nothing to write home about, however.
My last trip I did cut short my stay there by one night. My stay extended into the weekend and the hotel had rented sixty rooms to people involved in a teenage youth basketball tournament. The doors closing in this hotel make an incredible slamming noise that shake the walls, even several doors down. I checked out at 5pm and drove to the next city on my itinerary one night early. I should add that the manager was very understanding and reasonable about this and did not charge me for my "late checkout".
I would definitely stay here again.
