“The BEST FAST FOOD EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We take out from here at least once a week--the quality of the food is outstanding and always fresh. The best salsa in town, not my favorite chips but that is a good thing! Nice dining areas inside or out but we usually just do take out. The Cafe "mini chain" started in Davis, California and has a total following as in "I Crave Some Dos!"

“Organic and sustainable foods with quality prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012 via mobile

Dos Coyotes Border Café has long been a mainstay of the Sacramento restaurant scene and we have enjoyed them for many years. But what I found out today placed them in the upper echelon of fast casual restaurants. Restaurant manager, Steve spent some time with my husband and me today and explained some little-known facts about Dos Coyotes. For example, they use anasazi vegan-friendly refried beans, wild caught salmon, their produce is brought in fresh daily, their salsas are made from scratch. Their food is delicious and quality through and through. Restaurants like this should be recognized for their responsible food practices and the fact that they create culinary delights like the fresh ono fish taco (seasonal) puts them over-the-top for me!

“A Step above fast food Tex-Mex”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

This is a pleasant, brightly colored Tex-Mex restaurant. There is no table service, orders are taken at the counter and then delivered to your table. Serve yourself water, salsa, plastic forks and soft drinks.

The walls are decorated with bright, stylized Hopi figures, the tables have copperplate tops and they are surrounded by old fashioned, wooden 'Mexican' chairs. It has a clean and cheerful appearance. The walls have no sound absorbing features and the noise level is very high, conversation can be a challenge.

No complementary chips or salsa precede a meal. The self serve bar has 6-8 salsas of various heat levels, none exceptional for flavor or creativity.

Good seafood burritos and tacos. Salads, which are very large, have some imagination. None of this rises to the level of really good Southwest entrees however it is a step up from chain fast food. Dos Coyote tends to drift towards mayonnaise as an essential ingredient in most sauces.

Indoor and outdoor seating and free parking.

Good for a quick meal at a reasonable price if the noise from all those hard flat surfaces is acceptable.
