“A great new hotel at great old prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2008

Although not going to this area for the wine but actually for a wedding shower, I was fortunate to have found the Hampton Inn and Suites in Rohnert Park which is 10 minutes from Santa Rosa and within 30 minutes from several wineries in the Napa Sonoma area. It is one hour north of San Francisco and is an easy drive in for the day.
I could find no reviews for this hotel and was at first leary since other name brand hotels were more money and sounded like travelers had decent reviews. Well, it turns out the hotel just opened in October 07 and is a well kept secret find since everything is brand new. The King Suite was only $163.00 per night with auto club proof and had a wet bar with refrigerator and microwave (and found a package of popcorn ready for the microwave each day in addition to the coffee for the morning). The love seat opened to a double bed and the huge flat screen TV swung from sofa to bed and was even visable while soaking in the tub!
Great king bed with lovely linens, large well lit sink outside of the shower/toilet area with two huge shelves below to store all the stuff usually jammed on a small counter. Not here! For some icing on the cake - how about the breakfast which is included each day downstairs at no extra charge and has fresh fruit, packaged cereals, bread, english muffins and bagels to toast with choice of cream cheese, butter or peanut butter and some thin round cooked eggs along with juices and three kinds of name brand expensive coffee urns with flavored creamers if desired. The coffee and teas are available 24 hrs. a day too!
I hated to leave my room (402) and wished I'd had more time to sit there in total privacy and comfort, watching a first run movie with my very own popcorn. I will definitely plan to stay there again should we make a trip up north in the general area. It is close to the freeway and one block away from a Costco and there is a Baker's Square and Sushi restaurant within 1 block the opposite way.
Now finally there is a review for the Hampton Inn and Suites in Rohnert Park, California.

This is a fairly new property (Oct 2007), and by far the best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at !

It's at least a Hyatt / Marriott level property (without a bar or a restaurant, of course), at a much lower rate. The bedding is top end, nice bathroom, Flat screen HD (!)TV (looks a 32"), free internet (wired and wireless).

There a Japanese restaurant next door that delivers to the hotel, the menu is in the room, but I haven't tried it.

Very nice folks at the front desk, and a decent hot breakfast buffet included.

If there was one drawback, there isn't much of a view - my room faced a truck depot.

When I come to this area for business, I would generally stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Sebastopol, but that property needs renovation, it can be noisy, and it's way too expensive for what it is. this is a much, much better choice.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn after traveling throughout the Sonoma wine country. It's a new hotel in the area and very clean. We had a King Suite with a complimentary hot breakfast.
Good value and as a Hilton Honors member, we received triple points for staying here. The bed, linens and pillows at the Hiltons are wonderfully comfortable. We would stay here again.

I stayed there during Christmas. The hotel is brand new facility and the rooms are very spacious, and clean. Even the bathrooms are spacious, and they have very nice flat screen t.v. The housekeeping staff and day time staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast is not only free but a wide assortment of warm and cold choices. They have a nice but small business center, and the internet works well. I also enjoyed their very nice large t.v. in the lobby area with a comfortable couch if you want to get out of your room. This is a great choice I think for all types of guests, specially families with kids as the **breakfast ** is free, and you get free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate all day long.
Too bad they do not have a jacuzzi but they do have a pool. If you love Sushi, there is a great Sushi restaurant next door, and a Movie theater a few blocks away. About 20-30 minutes from the Sonoma Wineries and 45 minutes from Napa. I would definately stay there.
