“Not Great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

I found the staff at this hotel to be very rude. Specifically, the gentleman at check in and a woman in the restaurant. Additionally, the HVAC unit would not cool the room to a reasonable temperature despite being set at its lowest setting.

We stayed at the Doubletree over Labor Day weekend as this was one of the nicer hotels that would let us not book for all three nights of the weekend. The location of the hotel was perfect, it is very close to Highway 101, making it easy to zip up to the wine country, yet it is still tucked away, so you don't feel like you are living on the highway. The lobby is very attractive, with a bar (that also brews Starbucks coffee), a pool table, among other amenities. The staff was nice, helpful, and polite. Our room was fairly large, the bed comfortable, and the overall feel was very peaceful. Look-wise, the hotel, and the beautifully-gardened terrace, exceeded my expectations.
There a couple of things, however, that could be improved. First, the wifi is not free, but is a $9.95 charge per day - strange for a hotel of this level to not provide wifi to guests. Second, I paid a little extra to get the patio/terrace view. However, on the 2nd floor, our view was almost entirely obstructed by trees - we could not see much from the balcony. Also, the balcony is not separated at all from the neighbor's, which is a little too cozy. Finally, some of the finishes in the hotel look a little dated (especially the doors to the rooms) - not a big deal, but is noticeable.
I would definitely stay at this property again and will recommend it to others. Overall, the Doubletree made our stay in the wine country pleasant and luxurious.

Stayed here for one night (Saturday). Beautiful hotel. Wonderful restaurant with great breakfast buffet. Room was spacious, beds comfortable. Hotel was very busy, but room was quiet. Never heard outside noise. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel when visiting the Sonoma area.

Nice location, surrounded by Foxtail Golf Course, where I can watch my son teed off on the 1st hole and then from my patio I could watch my son as he played on the 9th hole. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, they help me with storing my luggage after I checked out since I had to take the 7.30 pm Airport Express bus for my mid night flight. The warm cookies at check in was a wonderful surprise.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Attention to detail, very clean, spacious lobby and guest rooms, beautiful patio with umbrellas, attractive grounds and pool, and a walk out courtyard worth every penny of the upgrade.

Nice hotel, convenient location, friendly staff. No free wifi unless your a gold or silver Hilton honors member. Feel free to pay $9.95 per device per day if you need the Internet. You can clearly hear people talking in the hallways, using the bathroom and stomping around in the room above you.

You are correct that our property does charge and access fee for internet, however all of our Hilton Honors members receive complimentary wifi.
The Hilton Honors program is a free rewards program and allows complimentary wifi throughout Hilton properties.
We apologize that this was not better explained to you during your stay, this issue will be communicated to the appropriate manager for resolution.
We’re very glad you enjoyed our hotel and were provided with excellent service from our staff.
