“Clean, new, relaxing, convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2011

The hotel seems pretty new, is very clean, and very well-appointed. The breakfast buffet has lots of choices, and the "Sundowner" was always well stocked and offered good choices. The hotel was very clean, very quiet, and the staff were super friendly at every interaction I had with them. The hotel is also located at a very convenient location, easy freeway access, and lots of shopping/theater/starbucks nearby (walking distance).

Yes, the bed was comfortable. Yes, it had a nice little kitchenette. Yes, the motel was quiet...but

I booked on their site for a weekend rate that promised either two queen beds or one king bed in a suite. When we got there, they offered us one queen bed in a very small room. We got changed to a king bed, but it was still no suite in any sense of the word that I know of.

It was not a suite, as in, two rooms where I person can sleep while the other person can read or watch TV. It was one room.

That room was very poorly laid out wih the lavatory, sink and closet all right next to the bed. It wasn't around the corner so you could turn on a light and brush your teeth or whatever without waking up the other person.

It was extremely hard to find tucked away in the back corner of a mall with only a tiny sign that read"Hotel" to guide you there.

To top it all off, we ended up leaving a day early because the fire alarm kept going off...five times...

While the staff was very nice, we wouldn't stay here again.

Newer property that is well kept. Staff is friendly and courteous. We used the indoor whirlpool on a Saturday night and were the only ones at the pool! Breakfast area is a little tight on table space and staff has a hard time keeping up with demand, but if you were patient the breakfast was above average and free! Rooms are very nice, beds very comfortable. Near-by BBQ restaurant had good food. We called in a take out order and avoided a long wait for a table by eating back in our room. The location of this property is odd. You can see it easily from Hwy 65, but to get to it you need to drive into a large strip mall and find the path between the buildings. The property is behind the mall. If you like Casino's the Thunder Valley Casino is ten minutes away. As in many properties the room doors slam closed loudly, there must be a better design out there.

First time at a Staybridge Suites and we had a one bedroom king, not the king suite. The room was nice and comfortable. Actually the furnishing we very well appointed. The kitchenette offered what was necessary. I liked the fact there were chairs and not high bar chairs at the eating space. The frig. is not full size like, but apartment size, but very adequate. Breakfast was not anywhere hear other Holiday Inn Brand accommodations. Attention to of what was out was NOT ever attended too. The cranberry juice was out for two days! Very limited to what was offered. The one evening lite meal was ok of chili dogs, taco chips and a so-so salsa. The next evening was Chef Boyardee from a number 10 can and that was so nasty. OK, so kids love it, but it was so nasty! I swear as a kid I ate paste from a jar with more flavor. At least the French bread was fresh. Our suggestions for breakfast head over to "Mel's Dinner", you can walk from the Staybridge Suites and there are several neat eateries in the same center for lunch and dinners. Catch a movie at the Blue Oaks Cinema, it's brand new, awesome screens! Few dollars more than Cinemark, Regal, UA; but well worth the experience. Yes we will return, but won't take up the offer of the breakfast and light evening meal.

My friends and I stayed here while we were at a scrapbooking weekend at Green Tangerines across the street.
The room nice and clean and the breakfast was decent too. There were plenty of breakfast options, from waffles to cereal to bagels to eggs and sausage/bacon.
The only drawback was that it was kind of hard to find at night. It is in a shopping center complex and is not off the road at all. You have to drive through the shopping center to get to the bridge to take you to the hotel. A little confusing but we found it.
We will definitely stay here again.

I spend 4-5 nights at this hotel every year for business.
It is hard to find the first time. I always tell people "behind the dollar store" and they easily find it. :)
The breakfast staff could be a bit more friendly and helpful.
other than that... it's an excellent stay. Front desk and housekeeping staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are always clean and well appointed.
Weeknight snack gatherings are a bonus and breakfast is decent.

Yes, this hotel is definitely hard to find. There is one sign that guides you into the shopping center but once inside the shopping area, you have to guess that the hotel is actually behind the shopping center.

We arrived late at night so we told the Front Desk that housekeeping services were not needed the following day. However, when we were ready for housekeeping on a Sunday, we were told that no services were available on Sundays.

I suggest that all week-end guests should be told upon arrival so there are no unpleasant 'surprises' and people can plan ahead by asking for more towels etc.

Breakfast was definitely a plus. There was actually hot oatmeal (not instant) which was a pleasant surprise, scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, fresh cut up fruit as well as whole apples, oranges and bananas. You could make waffles as well or choose yogurt for a lighter breakfast.

Coffee was not manned carefully so you could arrive and find no coffee available and no one in sight to replenish. This happened to us on 2 successive days (out of 3).

We come to the Rocklin area at least 2-3 times a year and this was our first stay at Staybridge. While it was nice to find a kitchenette, it is not a necessary convenience for us. The room was smaller than other hotels and thus felt cramped.

I doubt we'll come back since the room rate was also higher on a Sunday. Does that make sense?
