You would absolutely not expect this strip mall restaurant to have decent sushi, let alone the best sushi I've ever had. I first went here after a karate tournament in Riverside that finished on a Sunday afternoon. Asahi opens at 3pm on Sundays and we got there about 2:15 and there was already a queue to get in! By the time the doors opened there were already over 20 people waiting.
I recommend the 'all you can eat' menu (about $21 a head I think). You get to chose as from a huge selection of sushi, rolls, tempura, and other stuff which is cooked to order and served quickly by their excellent staff. The menu also includes a large number of unusual specialties most (but not all) that I liked. The reason I recommend all you can eat is that you're bound to see other people eating stuff that looks interesting and you can order it all inclusive in the price.
This place is hugely popular with customers driving long distances to eat there so be prepared for a wait if you eat Friday or Saturday evenings. If you see a big group making complete pigs of themselves it's probably my dojo. Say Hi :-)
Pros: Superb sushi at a great price, good service, very clean
Cons: They really need to expand.
