“Lovely motel, good for Death Valley”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

I stayed here for one night as part of a road trip around California. We chose Ridgecrest for its close proximity to Death Valley. If you imagined what a good motel would be like, this would be it. Plenty of parking, a pool (which we didn't have time to use). The room had an air conditioning machine which was necessary but was a bit loud to be left on overnight so was a little warm in the morning. Breakfast was good with a wide choice. Overall it did exactly what was needed as a one night stop on a road trip.

We had hoped to find a clean budget motel in Ridgecrest (on our way from the coast to Death Valley/Las Vegas) without having to make reservations. The Quality Inn was the first place we tried and the room looked convincing enough, plus there was a pool (which we finally did not use because of an approaching thunderstorm). Rates were reasonable, the bathroom was spacey, internet connection was good and checkout time was generous - until noon! We did not need this, though, because we wanted to leave early. The breakfast was quite okay compared with other complimentary hotel breakfasts, there were eggs and sausages in addition to toast and bagels, so even a low carber like myself was satisfied. Staff was friendly and welcoming, so I would definitely go there again if I was in the area.

After a long hot drive, the simplicity of this motel is very welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room served its purpose. The complimentary breakfast exceeded expectations as most of the hotels we visited wanted about $20 per head, the selection of hot and cold food was good and the addition of homemade waffles went down well with my teenagers. I found it quite a novel experience splashing around in the swimming pool next to a road junction, the hotel have erected covers on the railings so you're not watched over by truckers! You wouldn't want to stay in Ridgecrest for long though as there really isn't anything to do but as a stop over it was a bargain stay on all counts.

We picked this hotel because of previous reviews on Tripadvisor and it's location close to the Western entrance of Death Valley National Park. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and well-prepared. There is a swimming pool to relax in after a long drive although it does not have a wonderful outlook being adjacent to the road. However, the hotel provides everything one could wish for an overnight stay at a reasonable price.

Stayed here for one night on the way to Mammoth. Just wanted a clean, inexpensive place. This fit the bill. Nothing fancy, but the service at the front desk was friendly and the room was clean. The room price included a free breakfast. The food was good. Again, nothing fancy, but that's not the point of this place. Good place to stay if you are on your way somewhere else.

This room was comfortable and quiet. It had everything we needed. We travel with a small dog, which they allowed, but there was no designated pet area and no bags offered, so the flower beds on the street side were not clean. My feet were blackened I think from the carpet. This hotel seems to get a lot of traffic and may need to shampoo the carpets more often. It was not visibly dirty. The rest of the room was fine and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was average. The location is a bit away from most of town, but easy to get to. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Good for Per Diem travelers visiting China Lake. Rooms are large and clean. Air conditioner isn't loud like Econolodge. Breakfast is yogurt, waffles, eggs and sausage. Free newspaper. Stay on second floor to avoid noise from travelers above. Overall a decent place.
