Arrived at BevLen to find house locked and on one at home, returned after a coffee in the town to still find house locked up. After a short wait a car arrived only to inform us that the owner was ill and not able to accommodate us. Apparently she had sent an EMail which we had not received, she also had our phone number but never called, nor did she make any attempt to find an alternative, fortunately it was quiet and we found a hotel which was very comfortable.

One could not ask for a better stay. Warm welcome, comfortable bed, outstanding space the owner let's you use: lot's of books, cosy places to sit, tons of interesting antique items around you, most of them put to use. Hot tub, nice landscaping. Bev is the nicest host you can imagine. We left at 6am, so we didn't have the chance to experience the cooked breakfast. Yet, we had coffee and juice, there were English muffins for us to toast, and home made jam with them, everything just right. We hated to leave so early, but we were signed up for the Petroglyph tour at China lake military base nearby, btw, excellent tour. Many thanks to Bev for making our stay so special.

It was so nice to come "home" to Bev Len Haus. We had to be in that area last minute for a work meeting, Bev was so accommodating and welcoming. I would totally recommend her home, very comfortable, quiet and charming. Thanks Bev! Erin and Kirk

My wife and I stayed here for one night during a two week roadtrip of California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona in July 08. We made a bit of an effort to stay out of the chain hotels (Super 6, Best Value, Days Inn etc.) and this place is a great reminder of why that is a good idea.

Beverley was a great host and, especially with the exchange rate from UK £ to US $, the B&B is great value for money. Our room was fantastic and getting homemade pancakes and fruit picked from the trees in the garden for breakfast was great.

We chose Ridgecrest simply by finding it on a map, as we were going to Death Valley early the next morning. Beverley's B&B is just a five minute walk to a supermarket over the road, so very convenient if you're on a trip like ours.

This was the first stopover on our road trip from Los Angeles and was arranged at short notice due to a late change of plan.

After miles of long, straight roads through the desert we were initially a little bemused - Ridgecrest seemed to have little about it other than being the town serving the China Lake Naval Weapons Centre.

Once greeted, however, by the Innkeeper and her sweet little dog, we were delighted to enjoy the comfortable room and facilities - which now include wireless internet.

There are so many books and interesting magazines in the house that you could stay a year and not get bored!

Our stay was for just the one night - but the conversation was as interesting as any we have had on this trip - and the level of comfort very high.

Would definitely recommend this B & B highly.

  • Liked — Clean and comfortable, great range of books & magazines. Interesting host.

Bev is a wonderful host and her breakfasts are always delicious. The rooms are comfortable and feel very homey.

The best part of staying at BevLen is meeting the other guests and making new friends.

This place is friendly, clean and a bit of home. Bev and Len have lived in Ridgecrest since the 60's so they know the town and are helpful in selecting places to see and where to eat. This is a traditional B&B with no TV in the rooms, but they have one in the guest living room. With only 3 rooms I found myself getting to know the other guests who were also here on buisness. Breakfast was great.

  • Liked — The comfort of home.
  • Disliked — The desert gets very hot in June.
