“A good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

The hotel has recently had a remodel. I found the bed really comfortable, not too soft a mattress and aircon working well and not too noisy. Big refrigerator was sure useful. The main part of the hotel, at least the room I was staying in, was set back from the road, was little road noise to worry with if you're a lite sleeper like me. The pool is a nice size and kept clean and usable. The staff helpful. Would have liked some more variety in the free breakfast though; was there for over a week and got tired of the rather limited choice of the same each morning. Overall, a good experience!

Except for the gardens, the hotel did not look too nice from the outside: the building needs painting, the driveway is as narrow as it can be and the fitness center is a joke. But the room is a whole different story, its very spacious, clean, good lighting, private, I loved the room! It sort of seems like they remodeled the hotel, but only had money for the rooms and not the outside.

Breakfast is served in the small lobby which has few seats and consists on bread, bagels and danish pastries.

The gentleman who checked me in was helpful and sympathetic, but for the following two days, the clerk at the front desk didn´t even respond to a "good morning" and was far from helpful when I checked out.

I´ve attached two pictures of the fire hoses that are around the hotel that illustrate the state of the outside building.

Front desk person was very nice but then it was down hill from there, the sign up front said remodeled rooms but my room wasn't but the price had gone up, the room was old, dirty, smelled, no screen on the patio door, water damaged, what else can i say it was by far the worst hotel stay ever. I would never stay here again more important Day's Inn corporate should keep an eye on there properties at this time i would never stay at a Day's Inn again. Please note I am 49 years old and travel some this is the first time I have ever written a negative review.

one room seemed new and the other room seemed older but overall not too bad. Good service from the employees.

I found this hotel to be clean, comfortable and well cared for. Even though it is on a main highway, it is set far enough back from the road as to not have a problem with road noise (I even had a room that faced the highway). The room was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. I didn't have a chance to try out any of the amenities, but it looked like they had a very nice pool that was in the central courtyard of the hotel. Some of the women in my party mentioned that their doors didn't lock, but they didn't do anything about it, so how is the hotel to know about the problem. My door locked fine. The only downside was that the A/C unit was a little noisy, so I put it on fan and because it is so temperate in Redwood City, the fan was enough to keep my room cool at night even in July. The breakfast was very basic, but it was sufficient to keep me going until lunch. All the basics were there, including cereal, coffee, toast, fruit. The staff were very nice and they gave us good recommendations on where to eat in the area since we got in late from an flight from the east coast. There was a good Mexican restaurant across from Pronto's (I wish I could remember the name of it; it looks a bit sketchy, but the food is quite good). I would recommend this hotel to others if they were staying in Redwood City.
