“Superb accommodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2011

Luxurious room, fab jacuzzi, lovely breakfast, cordial hosts, no-hassle Internet connection, great kitchen, refrigerator for guests--we love this place. We've stayed at the Atherton Inn twice now and will definitely be there again when we next visit California.

Pictures can speak alot but with the Atherton Inn being there spoke much more, from the well appointed room, ours had a balcony with a view of shade trees, fireplace, comfortable kings sized bed and quiet.
The breakfast that Inn keeper Jim served was like having your favorite Grandma cook breakfast for you.
For us the location was perfect, we have stayed at may other places close to the Atherton Inn but from now on we will be making our reservations at the Atherton Inn.

Though Atherton Inn is not in a location that you would normally expect to find a bed and breakfast, it is quite convenient to both the business centers between San Francisco and San Jose and the Pacific beaches less than 30 minutes away.

But it is also a beautiful modern house in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are spacious, the breakfasts delicious. The living area feels just like being at home (except a bit bigger) complete with a grand piano, games and a big LCD TV. We ended up spending an afternoon watching the baseball playoffs tucked into recliners with the owners occasionally stopping by to chat and the check on the score.

For the traveler (especially business) looking for an alternative to the typical hotel experience where you are stuck in one room, this is as close as you can get to feeling right at home.

We stayed at this great Inn and felt so welcome and comfortable. Tricia and Jim are the perfect hosts. Rather than the usual boring hotel experience, stay here where you feel like you are at home, or sharing one. The breakfast is made to order and yummy. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Just go, you will not be sorry.

The Atherton is a beautifully built and maintained inn, about 35 minutes from the heart of San Francisco. The neighborhood is quiet, and the grounds are cool, green, and beautiful, with decks and patios for the guests. Both the guestrooms and the day rooms are spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the place, but the innkeepers, Tricia and Jim, made our visit really special.

If you want to enjoy some real R and R and R---this is the place. The Innkeepers are a quiet pleasure---they make you feel welcome however, they don't follow you around. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a real treat for those of us who live in Chicago. The bed so comfortable, we actually bought one and it is on the way to us. What can I say? Just a beautiful setting and ideal place to rest your head. Oh, by the by, the breakfast----the best.
