OK you Redwood City foodies who love Donatos and Vesta-here is the next local find. Manuel who is the chef-owner of La Viga, a casual quality Mexican restaurant on Broadway has now opened LV Mar. The food and presentation is simply fabulous. It is hard to pigeon-hole the cuisine-Mexican-South American- Mediterranean. Check the website for menu and prices which are quite reasonable for the quality. The best way to experience the food is to get 4-6 people together who love food and are not fussy, ask that your server be 'the only non-Mexican in the place'-that's how he describes himself, and just tell him to bring the food. You will think you are judges on an Iron Chef show with one beautiful course after another. Wine list is fairly good and corkage is $15. Don't go when you are in a rush. The kitchen is still working out the kinks and Manuel won't send anything out unless its perfect. For a more casual experience and great Paella try La Viga
