“Clean and tidy property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

You get what you pay for in the Bay Area. Here you get a clean room, enough parking, and a convenient location. The rooms are dark, and just basic. You do get free wifi. The gentleman who checked us in was quite sweet, he talks fast with an accent, but he sounded so confident I just couldn't ask him to repeat himself. There is a Whole Foods market just across the street, great option for meals. This is one of those properties used by business travelers, not a great place to take the family. However, if you need to stop for the night for a trip to Stanford it would be a good option, since you wouldn't be in the room much.

This hotel has everything as advertised - clean rooms, fridge, coffee machine, microwave, free breakfast, pool etc. It's very basic and is quite appropriate for its price. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is quite cold in the morning but is very refreshing! There are supermarkets and restaurants just next door and across the road. Security is not brilliant. You can walk in off the street and up to the rooms without anyone noticing since the gates linking the parking area with the room corridors are not locked, not even at night.

I wrote a review for here long ago. I just wanted to update everyone that I still come here every week for work and stay at this property. In fact, I'm in room 201 right now. I have watched front desk families grow up and move away since 2005(!) and it is still my favourite place to stay in Redwood City.

Drop me a line if you have any questions.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room if noise bothers you.

The hotel's biggest plus is its convenient location: just a short walk to the Redwood City Caltrain station, and a 15 minute drive down to Stanford. We were on the 1st floor in a king-sized room which was large and clean. There was even a fridge and coffeemaker in the room. While the walls are somewhat thin, for the price, you get everything you expect. (But if people are talking out at the pool at night, it can get noisy)

I'd suggest booking directly with the hotel instead of through 3rd party sites. Others have seemed to say similar things in their reviews. In our case, our flight was cancelled on the way over, so we had to call and amend our reservation one day. The hotel unfortunately couldn't do it directly, so we had to contact venere.com to do it for us, which was a big hassle. In addition, there was some miscommunication there as well, and we had been charged for the day we missed. Luckily, the hotel owner was nice and reasonable and we were refunded.

The hotel is next to Whole Foods, and there's some good eating and shopping options nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd floor and away from the courtyard if you need quiet.

The rooms are very clean & come with great upgraded TVs & chanels. The pool is relaxing and great to sit at or jump in on a hot day! The location is in a great place when coming to visit the Bay Area. The staff is always friendly and very helpful.

Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The area isn't the nicest but it's not that bad either. It's a short walk to downtown Redwood City with lots of dining options. This is not a 4 star hotel with lots of amenities. So if you need a weight room, spa, business center etc. keep looking. It's just a decent place to sleep for a great price in the bay area.

Not only did the rooms smell and the sheets dirty, the owner had the nerve to approach me open leaving by accusing my husband of smoking in the room when he had only smoked outside. No good morning or how was your stay. Just some rude man. Does he know that this is a place surrounded by hospitals and when people stay in hotels the are visiting and don't need any problems added on. Thanks for making me realize your establishment is the worst I've ever been to and know i know to never return.
