“Really long lines but good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

When you arrive, there will be people outside, large groups lined waiting for tables. Wait is at least half an hour. The menu is pretty good. The potato pancakes were actually like really flat hashbrowns, not pancakes in the traditional sense. I like the Eggs Michael, it's sausage patties with gravy and mushrooms. The portions are massive of course. Coffee is refillable like most american breakfast places.

“Popular Pancakes, NOT for us.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We have gone to one another chain of this restaurant in South Carolina year ago. It was very wonderful. So, we went to restaurant in Redondo Beach, Ca. It was so awful. Restaurant wasn't that busy when we arrived. Maybe less than one third of seats were taking. We asked kindly receptionist not bring any guests who had a strong perfume or a family with young child next our table. We are allergic to perfume and we wanted have a quietness around our table. We usually would not ask this request if restaurant is busy. After 10 minutes passed, receptionist brought family with a kids, and woman had a perfume, right next us. Other nice big tables were available.
Receptionist was very rude. About food, Canadian Bacons were too dry and so salty. Most restaurants don't serve real Canadian Bacon, except for Four Seasons Hotel. What they served us was American style Ham. Egg White Omelet tasted very strange. Coffee was't that good either. Service was OK, very fast pace with high energy. This was our first meal of the day. We both felt pretty nauseated after we ate. Overall experiences were terrible. We will never going back again. The End.

“Very good food - though the sides are a bit expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

They have very hearty portions, and it's definitely worth waiting for. I had the buttermilk pancakes and was not disappointed with the 4 or 5 large pancakes they served. My only complaint is that the side dishes are too expensive. I wanted to have their corned beef hash, but I think paying $8.95 for them is a bit excessive when the side dish becomes more expensive than the pancake main dish. Overall, I would definitely come back again - but only on a weekday like I did this time. Since this place is so popular, weekends are probably packed.
