I am a very picky hotel guest, but I was pleased with my stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. I slept very well on the mattress, and the linens felt expensive. The furnishings were stylish, and there was plenty of room. Though we didn't get to use the pool area, it and the lounge area around it looked very inviting. The free breakfast was much nicer than other hotels, and we got excellent service from the chef. My husband and I enjoyed made-to-order omelettes, and our kids got scrambled eggs, country potatoes, sausage, bacon, and a waffle we made at the iron on the counter. Much better than they get at home! I will definitely be trying Ayres Hotels in the future.

It's a five star for its market niche because of the value it offers overall: immaculate rooms and pool area, an exercise room and a better wine and cheese than the Embassy Suites. In the morning you get a full breakfast with real plates and utensils. Pedro makes an excellent omelette! We had a spacious double queen, flat screen TV, large closet and sink area. Wonderful staff service and close to downtown Redlands, the university and the freeway. Outside you do get freeway noise, so ask for a room on the inside of the hotel away from the pool area. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms in the inner courtyard away from the pool will be the quietest.

The hotel is clean, relaxing and the staff is very very friendly. The breakfast which was included in the stay was out of this world. A hot breakfast with eggs and a huge selection of breakfast items. The hotel allows dogs in some rooms which is nice. The down town area is nice you need to drive 6 blocks to get to it. Good places to eat and shop. You can check in very early (11:00) for a small fee which is good so the kids can swim. It was great for the price. We would stay again.

The ambiance of the hotel is undeniable. The inclusive breakfast is a treat. The outside lounging area along side the pool is relaxing. The security is welcome. The staff is friendly and willing to help in any way they can. My only complaint is the room. Some of the policies are a bit outdated. The room is nice but not top-of-the-line. Housekeeping does a very good job at cleaning each room...the sheets were clean, the towels were clean, the bathroom and sink areas were clean. I think it's time for the hotel to get rid of the 1980's looking bedspreads and replace them with a nice blanket instead. Also, the shower tub combination is not my thing because of the shower curtain. I can't help but to think "How many people have showered with this same curtain?" Other than that, I have no complaints. I plan to stay there again (despite my dislike for shower curtains) and recommend the Ayres Hotel to those looking for relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: Remember to take your room key out of the "slot" before leaving the room or you'll be...

Dear Pam314 -

Thank you so much for your review of our hotel and for allowing us the opportunity to welcome you. We are always thrilled to know we have made a lasting impression with our service and accommodations. While our bedspreads are definitely contemporary, we understand they may not suit all tastes. Rest assured we will share your comments with the design team at the corporate office for review. We appreciate your candidness and hope to welcome you back soon.

Sincerely,

The Ayers Hotel in Redlands was a real oasis in the desert. I spent 12 days at the hotel on a business trip and it was a restful respite after a busy day. The patio offers a space to spend time with friends that is generous and comfortable. We had upwards of 20 people in the evenings. The patio overlooks the pool which is well kept and available.

Breakfast is appealing and varied from fruit and yogurt, to waffles, omletes or bacon and eggs. The staff were very helpful and ready to make every guest at breakfast comfortable.

Though I only got to partake of the Manager's Happy Hour once, my impresseion was first rate. There was a variety of wine, beer, cheese and crackers, chips with salsa and guacamole, fruit and other snack iterms. It was one of the best such events I've experienced.

Overall, a first rate hotel.

Room Tip: Inside rooms, overlooking the pool are the best.

We were in Redlands for a wedding and the Ayres was very reasonable and offered the amenities of a much more expensive hotel. The staff was very friendly and there were many areas for people to get together and visit before and after the wedding.
