“Another Great Discovery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

We never planned where we would eat during our vacation, so it's always good when you find restaurants like the Bashi. The service and food will not disappoint.

“Good Asian fusion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Asparagus cooked perfectly and the beef dish was so tender it melted in the mouth. Salt and pepper calamari also very good.

“Scrumptious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Normally I really dislike fusion, being something of a purist, but this was truly scrumptious. No crowds even on a summer Saturday afternoon, probably because we were there for a late lunch (2:00), so the service was exemplary, but the menu was also nicely varied and interesting, while the dishes had fresh ingredients and were delicious! Additionally, the wine was amazing for a $10 glass of chardonnay at a 5-star resort. Naturally, you can't beat the view looking directly across all of the bays, with Catalina across the sea. Also, the validated valet parking made the price reasonable and access incredibly easy. All in all, a pretty amazing meal and an exceptional honor for the Ishibashi name.

“A Pleasant Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

My wife and I were in the PV area and decided to explore the Terranea Resort and have lunch. We looked at the other restaurants at the Resort that were open for lunch, and decided that this looked like it had the most interesting menu. We sat outside on a slightly overcast Saturday, and enjoyed the view of the ocean. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant: they have a nice indoor dining area, as well as a pretty fair sized patio, which I would recommend if the the weather is decent.

Service was very friendly and enthusiastic; a bit less attentive than I thought it should have been sometimes, but nothing really annoying. The drinks were a pleasant surprise. My wife's modest chardonnay was good, and my Mai-Tai was very good. The good news was that they were only $10 each, instead of the "resort pricing" you get at some of the coastal resorts in Orange County (i.e., the cheapest wine by the glass is $15 or $16, and the drinks are at least that much). We were both impressed with the food. It is largely a small plates sharing type of menu. We had the Ahi Tartare, the Walnut Shrimp and the Singapore Garlic Noodles with Chicken. For two people at lunch, that was plenty of food.

Neither the Resort nor Bashi is such that I would make a special trip from Los Angeles to visit, but I would certainly return to Bashi to eat if I were in the neighborhood again. It was a pleasant Saturday lunch.
