“Great for Golf!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We enjoyed a week here for golf, shopping, and relaxation with two other couples. They had timeshares at the Villas, we roomed in the Resort next door. The golf courses are impeccably manicured, and well run, as is the spa facility. Rooms at the Resort seem older, a little tired, but very adequate. Villas are newer, with kitchens, and decorated very well. Food at the many cafes is very good but very pricey, and all had excellent views. The concierge staff was well informed and helpful. After researching and selecting this property, we were surprised at checkin by a previously undisclosed "resort fee" of $27 per night. When I asked why we were not told of this, the only explanation given was that it was "for use of all the facilities." I admit we have experienced this charge before but it is an irritant. All in all, we will stay here next time

Room Tip: very long and narrow property, so request close to the lobby or to your activity such as tennis, poo...

This hotel was very relaxing and wonderfully tranquil. Very spread out along a beautiful golf course. Good spa and restaurant with great staff, the general manager even came and said hello. Great place for families or couples! Would go back in heart beat!

We enjoyed our 4 nights recently at the Westin Mission Hills. We were in a suite with two patio's facing different directions that allowed for outdoor relaxing in sun or shade. The suite also had a small refrigerator and dining table that allowed us to buy and make breakfast in our room before heading to the courts. We were there primarily for the tennis program and we had a great experience with the coaches who taught clinics there daily. Very experienced, knowledgeable and nice! We also ate lunch in the Italian restaurant on site several times and in the lounge 1x. The service was excellent and the food was good. We enjoyed being able to sit out on the patio and watch the waterfall, birds, and people walking by. The weather was perfect and it wasn't far to drive to either Palm Springs or Palm Desert for dinner or or other excursions. We also really enjoyed Joshua Tree National Park one day - a unique and amazing high desert experience.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with adults only, ask to be by the adult pool.

We made the mistake of accepting a deal on a room here in exchange for listening to a presentation for one of the most convoluted and usurious timeshare programs I have ever heard described. The hotel is definitely in decline. Broken lights, chipped pictures, and as mentioned below both waterslides were broken when we were there. Not that we cared, but we did care about the fact that, in the "Oasis Den" where there is a pool table, foosball, etc. there were virtually no functioning lights. It took us half an hour to get one of the "engineers" to look at them and he said he couldn't figure out the problem. The golf courses looked nice, but were overpriced for the area. The restaurants were seriously overpriced as well and you felt kind of trapped as the resort is far out of Rancho Mirage, let alone Palm Springs.
Our overall impression of the experience was a deep depression. Fortunately, we met friends for our last night and stayed at Casa Cody in Palm Springs. That was the cure and we are kicking ourselves for not spending the entire vacation there.

Room Tip: Go to Casa Cody. Get a room.

The Westin Rancho Mirage is a great place, it was very crowed when i got there. The Wi-Fi was really slow and the food was not that good and room service took forever. I cant believe the parking and there was none close to my building. The check-in desk clerk Matthew H. was rude and seemed like he did not want to be there and room service never came to my room when requested. The Marriott down the street has better service.

We celebrated the boyfriend's 33rd birthday here. A home away from home in the desert.
I love Westins. The heavenly bed, the robes the smell....

We ordered IRD and we were very happy and surprised with the service. our server laid out a table cloth and all the food. Thank you Raquel for the extra cheese plate! We really enjoyed it. The Tiramisu was so good that we ordered it again the next night and the bolognese had great flavor.

Angel our server at the restaurant was very helpful and great conversation. The spa was very professional and friendly (we got massages 3 days in a row).

A special thank you to Brittaney at the front desk for helping us with our complicated bill at check out. I hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Get a deluxe room overlooking the golf course.

We stayed for the golf vacation for 4 days. Everything was amazing. Great service, nice room, lovely setting... it was one of the best vacation we've ever had. When the housekeeping forgot to leave one of amenity, after calling to request to bring, the guest service personnel showed up and brought them within 3 minute! I think this is incredibly quick and unusual for the hotel in US! As well as the room experience, the servers at the restaurant was full of hospitality, which made us start great day during whole stay. (You should try their smoke salmon served in the breakfast buffet. It was awesome. ) Thank you so much. We definitely want to come back! or , Will recommend this hotel to my friends. Just to note: My rating for the Spa is "Average" because I didn't use it.

Room Tip: Rooms NOT facing to the sidewalk would be better, especially on the ground floor. there are several...
