We revisited this property and were quite impressed! A prior stay in January of 2013 had a few staff situations that led to a not-so-positive review. However, this trip reconfirmed my belief in Westin's quality!! The Westin Mission Hills is a beautiful sprawling property with spacious & nicely appointed rooms. Whether it's a romantic weekend getaway or an extended family vacation I would recommend this Westin as one of your best options for the Coachella Valley region. The young lady that greeted and checked us in (Jayhada) at the front desk was exceptional, as well as the bar, restaurant, housekeeping and engineering staff!
Many thanks to Mr. Ross Meredith, General Manager for the restful and relaxing stay!

Room Tip: Many room options with different views. I would suggest a golf course view.....beautiful

We had a very pleasant stay at this Westin. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are spread out with multiple buildings along the golf course. There was a Starbucks in the front entrance confectionery where my wife could get her pumpkin spice latte every day, this made her stay even better. The breakfast buffet was good and had lots of selection, lots of tables outside to enjoy the great weather. The hotel was not busy during our stay. Lots of room at the pools, we used the main pool which had the bar with the tvs. This was very handy in keeping up with the football scores.
The bed was very comfortable, great for a restful sleep. The grounds where very quiet so we would sleep with the patio door open. The only problem was that the geese would wake us in the morning. :)
The golf course was closed for reseeding, but no shortage of courses in the Palm Springs area. The course looked amazing we will have to come back and try it. The grounds that were watered were very lush. Waterfall and ponds around the main building and lobby area needed some attention but overall added a nice water effect at the restaurant.
We enjoyed our stay and would come back to this Westin. We thought it was good value and got what we paid for.

Room Tip: resort is spread out with the rooms in many buildings, so lots of walking. two storey buildings so...

A pumpkin spice latte and a breakfast buffet is definitely the best way to start your day and keep everyone happy! Being awakened by geese sure sounds like paradise and very relaxing, especially because the weather conditions were just perfect. This resort kept all of its promises. Beautifully landscaped, a real feeling of relaxation. Never too busy and the option of a quieter, or of an adults only pool were welcome. Eating breakfast outside was a real treat and Jose Luis really looked after us well. Our room overlooked the quieter Las Hadas pool, where David looked after all of the guests so well, learning everyone's names, and giving the personal touch. We will definitely be returning, two weeks was perfect for some winter sun!

Room Tip: Try to get a second floor room with balcony overlooking pool or golf course.

We are regular guests of Westin properties but this was our first time to The Palm Desert Westin. I made every effort to ensure no mishaps during our trip by calling ahead and the week of arrival speaking to management about how I wanted this vacation to be as perfect as possible. The room upon arrival needed maintenance in several areas, dusty furniture,The closet door was off the track lying on the inside of the closet itself, the phone did not work properly, 2 lamps as well as our patio light were out, and we didn't have a full set of towels only bath towels were placed in our room. It clearly appeared to have not been inspected before appointing it to us. We moved rooms the following day. Not convenient but necessary.

I will say the management and service from the staff was on point when I brought our concerns to them, very apologetic and kind. Our disappointment was that we had stressed how special of a trip this was to us and to give us the initial room we were in showed that the facility wasn't trying to ensure the best experience possible for us. Our room for our 4 night stay was only serviced once by housekeeping. I had to run my own trash to the larger receptacle in our building and request fresh towels and coffee for our in room machine. The restaurant Pinzimini was excellent! Elizabeth our server was an absolute sweetheart and really made us feel special celebrating our wedding anniversary at their property. The food was truly very good as was the wine selection. We also enjoyed the Fireside Lounge.
Karen Settles at registration was also absolutely wonderful the morning we moved to the second room, She made sure to have it inspected prior to us relocating and sent up some healthy breakfast for us to enjoy after our workout as an apology.

I don't know that I would return to this specific Westin it seemed really hit and miss. I have stayed at other properties in which the accommodations and service are streamlined to ensure a consistently good experience of comfort and the amenities. I wish it had been a much more memorable trip for us with not so many bumps.

Room Tip: I would recommend you have your room looked at prior to arrival to ensure everything is as it should...

I love Palm Springs! I have tried several hotels in PS and always have a pretty good experience, but this last minute booking was a mistake! The rooms are sooooo outdated, popcorn ceiling, dirty grimy floors and carpet, rusty faded paint on the outside, the waterfalls are nasty faded tile, and the water running through them is sooo dirty. I'm not one to complain too much, but don't waste your time - Palm Springs is too amazing and has too many fabulous hotels to stay at this mess. Plus our phone didn't work and the neighbors got into some altercation at 2am and we had to call security - keep it classy Westin.

Room Tip: For a good room stay in Palm Springs proper at the Colony Palms or in La Quinta at the Waldorf Astor...

A wonderful visit, with excellent staff, food, amenities and service. Great golf and fun. Special thanks to Ericka Giran, housekeeping in building "400". Made our room feel like home. Special thanks to Crystal Laviolette, who is an "Ambassador" for the Westin. Thanks to all the waiters, especially "Angel" who is a real wine connoisseur and takes pride in serving patrons. Already Edie and I planning our next holiday in early spring. This is truly our home away from home.

Room Tip: Golf club view if available and close to Adult pool..

First of all, the people at this resort make it all that it is. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Everyone greated me, from the pool staff to the grounds maintenance and everywhere in between. The restaurant at the hotel was fabulous. The french toast is superb , hot tea in a special box that I got to choose what flavor I wanted and the eggs Benedict were a treat. The pool was clean, warm and always had an empty lounge chair waiting for me. Beds where awesome and extremely comfortable. The whole place is exceptional and all that you would expect from an upscale resort in this area.
